Review
Tensions between the Others and the humans are escalating. The Humans First and Last movement is gaining steam and with the use of the new drugs Gone Over Wolf and Feel Good the humans are striking out. Some humans have made a game of using the drugs to trap and kill the Others, specifically the Crows. Humans aren’t shopping in the Courtyard anymore. Human businesses are not selling to the Others. And humans that do deal with the Others are getting targeted by their own kind.
To make matters worse, it’s determined that the new drugs are made from cassandra sangue blood. The Others outside of Lakeside are quick to kill the blood prophets, they’re only humans after all. However, Simon must change their perspective in order to keep Meg safe.
It’s determined that the Controller that Meg escaped is behind the drugs and the attacks and he must be eliminated. Everyone must work together to determine his location and to eliminate him once and for all.
This is another decent read in the series. Meg and Simon are still drawn to each other, but it’s something that neither truly understands. Meg is too innocent to know much about relationships and Simon doesn’t quite understand humans. He also doesn’t understand his own feelings where Meg is concerned. There still isn’t any real romance in this book, but it’s definitely brewing.
This novel does show how the terra indigene can work well with each other and open-minded humans to achieve a common goal.
We also got to meet a new sect of people, the Intuits, that will no doubt be a huge part of the future installments of the series.
This book didn’t knock my socks off, but it was decent and advanced the series storyline.
