Note: Minor spoilers!

Synopsis: Lucy and Edmund Pevensie are sent to the home of their aunt and uncle while Peter and Susan have been sent away to America since World War II is still raging on. One day while Edmund is having an argument with his cousin Eustace, the painting of a ship on the wall starts coming to life. The room is suddenly filled with water and Lucy and Edmund are returned to Narnia along with their cousin Eustace where they meet up with Prince Caspian and board his ship The Dawn Treader.

Prince Caspian explains he is on a mission to find the Seven Lords of the kingdoms who had traveled to the Lone Islands sent by Prince Caspian’s uncle in order to protect them when his father was trying to take over Narnia. But they haven’t been heard from since Prince Caspian was a boy. Edmund and Lucy agree to help him in his quest (much to Eustace’s grumbling and disapproval). Along the way they encounter many different dangerous: dragons, wizards, merfolk, and a band of lost warriors. In each island they come upon, they find both an obstacle to overcome and another Lord. Not all of the Seven Lords are found alive though. There is a powerful evil threatening to be unleashed into the world unless Prince Caspian, Edmund, and Lucy are able to find a way to stop it.

I have read and loved the books of the Chronicles of Narnia. I have also LOVED each and every movie that has been made. Voyage of the Dawn Treader was no exception! This was the best one yet!

The movie was visually stunning! Full of deep imagination and bright colors. The special effects aren’t overbearing or sore to the eyes. The movie flows very nicely and is paced well. Never too dragged out or too fast. The musical scores are beautiful and help build wonderful suspense in the film.

Favorite characters return: Aslan, Prince Caspian, Lucy, Edmund, and Reepicheep the courageous mouse. Aslan is just as AWESOME as always. I hated the fact that he wasn’t in much of the movie though. I fell even more in love with Prince Caspian in this film! Ben Barnes is GORGEOUS, SEXY, and DELICIOUS! Every girl will be swooning as she watches this movie. His acting skills are just as wonderful as his looks *wink* He radiates strength and kindness like a good king should. Reepicheep is just as awesome as he was in the previous films. That dang mouse will have you laughing and make you wish you could go on an adventure with him. I also enjoyed Eustance character played by Will Poulter. He provided much of the humor for the film along with Reepicheep.

There are so many heartwarming and touching moments throughout Voyage of the Dawn Treader. My favorite scene was after Eustace was turned into dragon and feels heartbroken. Reepicheep takes him under his wing (so to speak) and helps teach Eustace how to be a better person and be kind to people.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader

is also filled with many powerful and exciting action scenes which helped to heighten the film more than the previous films. Prince Caspian gets to flex his muscles (much to the delight girl’s everywhere *hehe*) and proves to be a great king. Reepicheep kicks butt and it’s so much fun to watch him do his stuff.

Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

is a bit darker and scarier than the previous two films so parents may want to be cautious about letting kids under the age of ten watch it.

Voyage of the Dawn Treader

is one of my FAVORITE films to come out this year! You will laugh. You will cry. You will have a total blast! Gather up the family and head to the theaters. You won’t regret it *wink*
