No Khan For Star Trek 2, Different Original Series Villain Rumored Instead
By Josh Tyler & Eric Eisenberg at Cinema Blend
It’s been a long wait for the sequel to J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek and considering how many projects the man currently has on his plate, we may have to wait even longer. In recent months the biggest detail that has come out about the project was Damon Lindelof comparing it The Dark Knight. Now, finally, we are getting some of the bigger picture.
Badass Digest claims to have a source close to the Star Trek 2 production who has leaked a few details regarding what we might see in the sequel. First off, the source has confirmed that Khan will not be the villain in the film. In actuality, the film won’t focus on a traditional villain, rather a season one character from the original series. According to the article, the character could be “Harry Mudd or Trelane or Gary Mitchell or the Talosians or the Horta,” though the source was unwilling to be more specific, and of course this is just an unsubstantiated rumor for now.

Malese Jow Talks Katniss Role In ‘Hunger Games’: ‘I Would Give It 2,000 Percent’
by Amy Wilkinson at MTV News
Who should play Katniss? It’s a question that’s been swooping around the internet like so many Mockingjays. Reports indicate that scripts have gone out to both “Skins” star Kaya Scodelario and “Nikita” actress Lyndsy Fonseca for the part of “The Hunger Games” heroine. And there are always those Chloe Moretz rumors. But if you remember back to the summer, Hollywood Crush suggested a trio of actresses for the part, with top billing going to “Vampire Diaries” star Malese Jow.
There have been reports of scripts being sent out for the role of Katniss. Have you been approached or are you looking into the part?
I’ve heard that there are scripts floating around. My agent and manager are working as hard as they can. I would definitely like a fair shot at this. I feel like I would be great for Katniss, so I would love to go out for it.

Felicia Day Exclusive Interview RED: WEREWOLF HUNTER
by Christina Radish at Collider
In the SyFy original movie Red: Werewolf Hunter, actress Felicia Day takes on her first leading role as Red, a descent of Little Red Riding Hood. When she brings her fiancé home to meet the family, he learns that the family business is werewolf hunting, but is skeptical until bitten by a werewolf, and Red tries to save him as her family insists he must be killed.
How did you come to be a part of Red: Werewolf Hunter?
DAY: I believe it was a combination of SyFy and one of the producers, Angela Mancuso. She was aware of some of the things that I was doing in new media, and Syfy new me through my online activities and Dr. Horrible. When they called and said, “Would you like to do this job?,” it was exciting because that had never happened to me before on a project. It just seemed like a cool combination of all the things I love, and it seemed like it would be an awesome life experience, as well as just a really fun and wonderful acting experience. I’m always being doing everything on my sets, and I was doing a lot of my own sets, at the time. So, just the idea of being able to go away for a month and really just concentrate on the acting was just a wonderful opportunity for me.

Darren Aronofsky Developing New Sci-Fi Thriller ‘Machine Man’
by Alex Billington at First Showing
Heat Vision is reporting that acclaimed filmmaker Darren Aronofsky is now developing a “cybernetic thriller” called Machine Man for Mandalay Pictures. While it sounds like this is based on a comic book, it’s actually based on an original idea from author Max Barry that is first being written as a novel then adapted as a script by Mark Heyman, who co-wrote Black Swan with Aronofsky. They do mention that he’s still working on closing his deal to direct Wolverine 2, which will most likely start shooting next year, but it sounds like this could be after that if everything falls into place on time.
Max Barry’s Machine Man is described by Mandalay via Deadline as an “amped up pop-thriller” (that’s not so bad) that centers on a gadget geek and engineer at a forward thinking tech firm who is tired of going through life average and unnoticed. He’s obsessed with his own self improvement, so he decides to replace his “weak, fleshy parts” with high-end titanium performance upgrades…

Malese Jow is my favorite suggestion for Katniss so far. I was disappointed when her character was killed in Vampire Diaries because I really enjoyed watching her. And physically, she’s the actress that is closest to the book yet. I’m actually looking forward to SyFy’s Red. SyFy originals are usually pretty hokey, but I love Felicia Day and the concept seems interesting enough.
Who do you think should be the next Star Trek villain? Do you think they should use an old villain or create another new adversary? Who is your dream pick for Katniss? How do you feel about the end of Harry Potter?
