SyFy Movie ‘Never Cry Werewolf’ with Nina Dobrev of The Vampire Diaries
via Werewolves.com
The first thing you think when you see ‘SyFy movie’ in any review title is, ‘Here we go, more crappy effects in a hastily thrown together creature feature.’ Well, what the hell is wrong with that? Especially when you throw in an actress like Nina Dobrev who plays Elena in The Vampire Diaries; the other hottie in show, –the first and foremost being Ian Somerhalder, who plays Damon. Nina Dobrev has another annoying little brother in this flick, though this time, he doesn’t do drugs and screw the town whore.
Nina Dobrev plays Loren Hansett, your average, everyday high school girl until a werewolf moves in next door. Her little brother, Kyle, played by Spencer Van Wyck, seems impressed with the new neighbor but Loren begins getting suspicious immediately. The new guy in town, Jared Martin, gives her a bad first impression with his hairy palms and unhealthy attraction to her.

Kellan Lutz goes from vampire to the sea in ‘War of the Gods’
By Gregory Ellwood at HitFix
The trio of the “Twilight Saga” superstars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner have all been busy with numerous movie projects since the vampire franchise took off, but could Kellan Lutz turn out to be the true hit-maker among them? Lutz plays supporting bloodsucker Emmett Cullen in the big screen adaptation of Stephenie Meyer’s popular novels, but he’s got a few other projects that should increase his starpower over the next year or so. Lutz has a key role in the reboot of “A Nightmare on Elm Street” this April and now is joining the intriguing cast of Relativity Media’s “War of the Gods.”
The period piece hopes to ride the wave of Ancient Greek nostalgia “Clash of the Titans” should spark with a tale centered on the warrior Theseus (“The Tudor’s” Henry Cavill) teaming up with the Greek gods to defeat the elder and much more sinister Titans in order to save mankind (yes, even gods get cranky in their old age). According to Variety, Lutz will play a young appearing Poseidon, god of the seas.

By Scott Edelman at Sci Fi Wire
Tired of agonizing over which actor would end up starring in Captain America: The First Avenger? Us too! So we were happy to hear that Marvel had made an offer last week to Chris Evans, best known for his role as the Human Torch in two Fantastic Four movies.
And we’re even happier to learn that, according to The Hollywood Reporter, Evans has accepted.
Supposedly, after thinking about it for a few days, the actor decided that yes, he was willing to wield Cap’s shield, and negotiations moved ahead quickly, with the dealmaking moving so fast that all that’s left is dotting the i’s and crossing the t’s.

Wow, with what is essentially a copy of Clash of the Titans coming out, it really does seem like Hollywood is out of ideas. But since that seems to mean every good (and just ok) book is being turned into a movie, I guess I’ll live. And every time I see a new preview for a SyFy Original, I get hopeful; maybe this one won’t make me laugh out loud for all the wrong reasons, only to be disappointed. But the book Never Cry Werewolf looked good, and so does the movie Red, so I’ll keep hoping.
What do you think of the Captain America decision? Who would you have picked?
