Aquaman movie ‘very much a reality,’ says Smallville star
An Aquaman movie for the big screen? Seems that it’s a clear possibility, if we’re to believe the King of Atlantis himself, actor Alan Ritchson, who’s making a splashy return in tonight’s episode of the CW’s Smallville titled “Patriot.”
In an interview with Comic Book Ressources, the actor, who doesn’t return to Smallville alone, since he’s coming back with wife Mera in tow (it’ll be the first time we see the character on the series), first sounded off on a TV series based on his character, whom he calls the “Superman of the Seas”.
Swiss Director Ben Hibon Set to Helm Supernatural Thriller ‘Pan’
If you joined the masses this weekend in theaters to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I, then you’re already familiar with the work of Swiss director Ben Hibon. Sure franchise helmer David Yates directed the film itself, but Hibbon is responsible for that sweet animated sequence where Hermione tells The Tale of The Three Brothers and the history/myth of the Deathly Hallows. Now Hibon is set to direct his own fantasy action thriller as Variety reports he’s set to helm Pan, a story which we haven’t heard about in nearly four years, that takes the classic fairy tale of Peter Pan and turns it completely on its head.
‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ getting big-screen reboot
Though it began life as a 1992 movie, “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” was best known as a seven-season supernatural drama that helped make a star out of Sarah Michelle Gellar, David Boreanaz and others. Now, the series will get a second shot at the big screen, according to our colleagues at Hero Complex.
With series creator Joss Whedon off working on “The Avengers,” the Buffy revival duties are in the hands of screenwriter Whit Anderson.
‘Green Lantern’ Has an Abstract Deep Fish Villain
The Green Lantern movie may be filled with so many superhero movie clichés that it borders on satire, but at least it isn’t trying to cram a bunch of villains into a single film, right? Wrong! Though the trailer focused mostly on Peter Sarsgaard’s giant, evil head, Green Lantern will also be facing off against Parallax, a symbiotic creature that embodies fear itself.
First Image of Karl Urban as ‘Dredd’ Hits Online
The first image of Karl Urban as Judge Dredd in the Pete Travis-directed remake/readaptation of the sci-fi comic series (itled simply ‘Dredd’) has found its way online. It seems to have been made public by Jock, the comic book artist who is also working on the film as one of its concept artists, and is, according to 2000adOnline.com, a shot taken from rehearsals. So, don’t judge the film by the lighting or the location, take it simply as your first look at Karl Urban as a futuristic police officer, judge, jury and executioner.
I’m not sure how I feel about a Buffy Reboot. I am getting sick of all the “reboots.” I’d rather see new/fresh ideas. How do you feel about all the recent reboots?
The deep sea villain, from Green Lantern, is freaky scary. Any thoughts on today’s movie news?
