Walt Disney has released a 5 minute clip from director Jon Turteltaub’s The Sorcerer’s Apprentice. The clip is an action scene that takes place towards the beginning of the movie and it features Nicolas Cage’s character and a very special ring.

Bloody new Conan photo of Jason Momoa revealed!

We got our first official glimpse of a bulked-up Jason Momoa as Conan last month, but that didn’t answer the question—what will the Stargate: Atlantis star look like in action?

Now we know.

A Spanish magazine (sorry, but we don’t know its name) recently published a photo of Momoa as the bloodied, sword-swinging Cimmerian, which was cleaned up and posted online.

Ben Kingsley and Sacha Baron Cohen in Scorsese flick

Production has begun in London on Martin Scorcese’s new adventure film Hugo Cabret. The live-action film, to be photographed in 3D, stars Ben Kingsley, Sacha Baron Cohen, Asa Butterfield (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas), and youngster Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl from Kick-Ass).

Based on Brian Selznick’s New York Times bestseller The Invention of Hugo Cabret, the screenplay is by John Logan and the film is produced by Scorsese, Graham King, Tim Headington, and Johnny Depp.

In an effort to balance things out and share some of the, well, lesser moments from The 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival, it is time to talk about the kind of film that really bears little or no resemblance to the majority of the films that screened there. Bear in mind, these lesser moments were few and far between, and none of them related to the festival staff or something they did with intent. It just felt like a few of the film selections were just not on the same level of quality as the majority of the work that was screened, mainly because sometimes with big names come festival invitations. But hey, check out my coverage of LAFF for many more gems from the festival, which you will see, far outweigh the negative. The film that stands out as the most disappointing of the festival is certainly the new documentary from the heralded Davis Guggenheim, Waiting For Superman, an all out assault on the United States education system. I mistakenly recommended this film pre-festival, my bad.
