SEASON’S KISSES

Wild child Chloe Thompson can’t believe how much things have changed. She still can’t get enough of her sexy husband Sawyer, but he seems to prefer working to thinking about impending fatherhood. So tonight, a very pregnant Chloe is escaping her troubles at the town Christmas party.

Sheriff Sawyer Thompson hopes surprising Chloe at the party will give him a chance to set things right. But as the snow begins to fall and the wind rages, he wonders whether he can make it back in time. While Mother Nature conspires to keep Sawyer and Chloe apart, an unexpected arrival will require them to kiss and make up . . . and ring in the happiest holiday Lucky Harbor has ever seen.

Review:

A delightful Christmas novella to start the 2014 holiday season off 🙂 .   Chloe is 8 ½ months pregnant with rampant hormones and husband Sawyer is off yet again on a one week assignment with the DEA.  With hormones flowing, it is no wonder Chloe is confused and upset that her husband is leaving her at this time in the pregnancy.  Chloe wonders if Sawyer feels trapped…and does he even want the child?  Chloe’s thoughts and emotions are off the chart.  Luckily, she has her sisters and brother-in-laws to come to her assistance while she is “husband-less”.  Chloe is determined to attend the town Christmas party…regardless of what EVERYONE thinks!  In the interest of keeping this enjoyable read pristine for you….I cannot in all good conscious say much more.

A swoon worthy statement……..and I agree with Sawyer’s wife – he is certainly a hunk! 🙂

“The steam from the shower filled the bathroom around them, and it was like fog on a humid night as Sawyer stripped with quick efficiency, revealing his body in all its glory, a sight that even the angels would sigh over.  He caught her staring and smirked.  “Can’t help it,” she said. “I like to look.” “Good to know,” he said, and nudged her into the shower.”

I did find it disconcerting that after five years of marriage, Chloe is still so insecure.  However, the reader did get further insight into both Chloe’s and Sawyer’s early childhood to put in a bit more perspective on this insecurity and their reluctance (?) at being parents.

If you want to read a feel good Christmas story in short order, following a couple of Lucky Harbor residents, then this is the novella for you.
