Po is the biggest fan Kung Fu around but the problem is Po isn’t exactly what one would call a warrior. He’s big boned, loves to eat than exercise, and gets tired working hard in his family’s noodle shop. Po’s big dreams become a reality when he is unexpectedly named as the new Dragon Warrior. Po excitedly studies the art of Kung Fu next to the legendary Furious Five– Tigress, Crane, Mantis, Viper, and Monkey– and their leader, Master Shifu. But soon, Po along with the Furious Five must defend China against the vengeful Tai Lung. Po must prove that he can lead his new warrior friends and that is he worthy of the title of Dragon Warrior.

A host of great actors offer their talents to help voice the characters in this wonderful animated movie by Dreamworks. Jack Black voices Po and is excellent! He manages to bring out the heart of Po to life and adds terrific humor throughout the entire film. From the moment Po comes on screen you will be falling out of your seat laughing. Dustin Hoffman voices Shifu, Po’s guru and the leader of the Furious Five. Hoffman is downright funny! Angelina Jolie voices Tigress, Jackie Chan voices Monkey, Seth Rogen voices Mantis, Lucy Lu voices Viper, and David Cross voices Crane– they each bring the Furious Five to life with great sarcasm, fierceness, and strength. Ian McShane voices the treacherous Tai Lung who is hell bent of taking down Shifu. Mcshane gives just the right amount of fearful presence to the character.

Kung Fu Panda is visually beautiful! The animators of the film should give themselves pats on the back for all their hard work. They brought Po’s story and all the characters to life effectively and deserve more of the credit to adding the humor and soul to the movie. The ancient Chinese city was vividly stunning and colorful.

One of my favorite movies by Dreamworks. My niece and nephew would have to agree. We absolutely loved it and had a great time! If you’re looking for a fun filled film to enjoy as a family, Ku Fu Panda is the best way to go!
