Review
This is the third installment in the “Women of the Otherworld” series by Kelley Armstrong. We switch narrators in this story to Paige Winterbourne, who we briefly met in ‘Stolen’. She is currently in the care of thirteen year old Savannah who is being pursued once again by Leah O’Donnell.
This was great ‘coming of age’ story for both of these characters. Paige had to grow into the mother role for Savannah after just losing her own mother, and while being under the scrutiny of the Coven as their newly appointed Leader. Savannah was coming of age for her first menses which is very important in determining what type of witch you will be for the rest of your life. And along with ‘coming of age’ stories comes major obstacles to be tackled mentally and physically.
I enjoyed this book and I found it more comedic than her previous novels in this series. Paige was just being bombarded with insane situations at the hand of Leah, and Savannah, being a temperamental teenager, was no help. With the help of Lucas Cortez, Paige discovers how dangerous supernatural life can be and makes tough decisions about her and Savannah’s future.
