Cool new Avatar images

The new images give a good look at the Na’vi warrior Neytiri, voiced by Zoe Saldana, and Sigourney Weaver’s character, Dr. Grace Augustine, who kinda looks like a mature Ripley returning to LV-426.

Now we know there’s a lot of animosity toward Rogen for taking on this franchise, but honestly: He does kinda look like the character, right?

Rogen plays Britt Reid, the newspaper entrepreneur by day and masked superhero by night. Jay Chou takes over the role of chauffeur/martial-arts expert Kato, Cameron Diaz is Lenore Case, and Inglourious Basterds‘ Christoph Waltz plays the villain, Chudnofsky. Rogen has described the script, which he wrote with partner Evan Goldberg, as the story of a hero and his sidekick. Michel Gondry directs. Green Hornet opens Dec. 17, 2010.

Bay updates Transformers 3 and calls Megan Fox on her BS

“Well its official: We have a great Transformers 3 story. The release date is now July 1st 2011. Not 2012.

Today is Day One. This morning started with an ILM meeting for five hours in San Francisco. Currently I’m flying with writer Ehren Kruger to Rhode Island to talk to Hasbro about new characters.

P.S. Megan Fox, welcome back. I promise no alien robots will harm you in any way during the production of this motion picture. Please consult your Physician when working under my direction because some side effects can occur, such as mild dizziness, intense nausea, suicidal tendencies, depression, minor chest hair growth, random internal hemorrhaging and inability to sleep. As some directors may be hazardous to your health, please consult your Doctor to determine if this is right for you.”

Finding Nemo and Wall-E director Andrew Stanton’s first foray into live-action film making is still a ways off, but over the past number of months, many exciting names have been cast in John Carter of Mars. The castings have come in interesting succession, with new additions being revealed every month. We were first informed in June that leads John Carter and the Princess of Mars would be played by X-Men Origins: Wolverine co-stars Taylor Kitsch and Lynn Collins. Next up was the announcement in July that Willem Dafoe was also cast in the movie as Tars Tarkas, a friendly outcast within a species of vicious warriors. In August, it was reported that three supporting roles were filled by Polly Walker, Dominic West, and Samantha Morton, and all was shaping out nicely.

Like clock work, just before September ends, three new names have been added to the cast, and it keeps getting better and better. Disney has announced that the newest trio of faces added to the cast are Thomas Haden Church, James Purefoy, and Mark Strong.

Every time I see something from Avatar, it makes me want to see it more. And I loved Iron Man so I’m excited for the second; but what is it with comic book girls and red hair? Pepper, Black Widow, Mary-Jane, Lana Lang. I don’t mind, I’m just curious. And I never thought I would see Seth Rogan as a superhero, but this works.

So what do you think of the updates? Do you like the casting for John Carter? What about Micheal Bay’s comment about Transformers?
