Win a trip to the set of ‘The Hunger Games’! via OnLocationVacations.com

Lionsgate has just launched a contest, called “The Ultimate Hunger Games Fan Sweeps”, which will send one lucky fan to the set of The Hunger Games in North Carolina where they will receive a tour of the set and a meet and greet with the cast.

About the sweepstakes, the film’s director Gary Ross said, “We are very excited to welcome a fan to set. We are grateful to all of the fans for their enthusiasm and support.”

To enter the contest, just visit The Hunger Games Facebook page and “Like” it. The contest runs through July 24, and the winner will be announced on July 25.

New Set Photos from Russ Bowen: Mellark’s Bakery & The Seam via Mockingjay.net


Local news reporter Russ Bowen tweeted photos of locations that had a “lot of filming activity” and a building that can only be Mellark’s Bakery.

The pictures include detail shots of the bakery and a house, possibly from the seam.

Scholastic is publishing four new versions of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins — including one special edition of the book, and three books to tie-in with the upcoming movie adaptation. All four books are now available for pre-order.

‘The Hunger Games’ not being featured at Comic Con via Examiner

With The Hunger Games still filming in North Carolina, it should come as no surprise that the film will not be one of the featured presentations at San Diego Comic Con next month.

Lionsgate told the LA Times that it just wasn’t possible to put together a panel for Comic Con due to the film’s shooting schedule and timing conflicts for cast members. Lionsgate may do smaller promotion for The Hunger Games at Comic Con, such as featuring the film’s official Facebook and Twitter pages — but don’t expect any big reveals, like footage or new photos.

I’m disappointed there won’t be anything at Comic Con, I think they should have taken advantage of that. Even if they just did photos or new interviews. Or videos of Jennifer practicing archery.
