Aerial Shots of City of Hunsbury England Filmed for Deathly Hallows

www.the-leaky-cauldron.org: Thanks to TLC reader Emma, we know that the city of Hunsbury, England will feature in overhead shots for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Emma pointed us to this article which says:

“The Warner Brothers team went up in a helicopter to film aerial footage of the residential area last Thursday.As reported by this newspaper they had posted letters to residents asking them to leave lights on and curtains open why the filming took place.It was on Tuesday night that the production company’s location department revealed what the filming was for. The news has delighted residents and the non-magical muggle folk who are now hoping to catch a glimpse of the Northampton skyline when the film is released.

J.K. Rowling Loves Butterbeer and More from Wizarding World of Harry Potter Sneak Peek

In the video, we learn that Jo attended a special tasting of the butterbeer and “loved it,” the same beverage which will be served at the theme park. Other new details include more on the fantastic Hogwarts Castle, where fans will be able to see the Defense Against the Dark Arts room, the Gryffindor Common Room and more. Rupert Grint also reveals the Whomping Willow and, alas, the giant spider are due to make an appearance, while Emma Watson confirms again they made a special film which is part of the ride which encompasses some of the best moments from each of the Harry Potter movies.

Harry Potter’s US cousin Percy Jackson is a Greek demigod

entertainment.timesonline.co.uk: Hollywood’s search for a successor to the Harry Potter goldmine has led to the top of the Empire State Building, where a 12-year-old boy named Percy Jackson is ready to unleash a new brand of magical powers on cinema audiences around the world.

The forthcoming arrival of an American challenger to JK Rowling’s fantasy empire is already provoking howls of plagiarism from Potter fans upset by similarities between the hero of Hogwarts and a demigod interloper who turns out to be the son of the Greek god Poseidon.

The director and producers of Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief are also under fire from bloggers who responded to early excerpts from the film by denouncing it as “Harry Potter with Greek mythology”.
