HARRY POTTER NEWS FOR OCT 14: POSTERS, EVANNA LYNCH AND MORE

Six More Posters for HARRY POTTER AND THE DEATHLY HALLOWS: PART I

Source: collider.com

I previously wondered how many posters Warner Bros. would be releasing for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I. With the release of six more posters, the count currently stands at 18. There are eighteen different posters out there to help inform you that this little indie flick about a boy wizard on the run from evil wizards is coming out soon. If you like rooting for the villains, then the tagline for you is “The Hunt Begins” (although I’m pretty sure they’ve been hunting him for at least three movies now) and if you’re for the heroes, then the tagline goes “Trust No One”. It looks like the next Harry Potter will be an uplifting little movie.

THE INSIDER: EVANNA LYNCH

Evanna Lynch is in a bit of a panic. “I’m so, so sorry,” she says, rushing to my table in a hotel café in Drogheda, County Louth, Ireland – 35 miles from Dublin. “I’ve been getting a reputation for being late. I slept in. I’m really sorry.” It’s an anxiousness at odds with the calm and collected Luna Lovegood, the pale-skinned school outcast she’s played in the Harry Potter moves since 2006.

A Potter obsessive since the age of eight, Lynch’s story is the stuff of fairytales. Six years after falling in love with J.K. Rowling’s novels, she was plucked from 15,000 hopefuls to join the Potter world, a journey that’s perhaps the equivalent of being asked to join the band you obsessed over as a teenager.

We’re meeting at a similarly transitional stage in her life. It’s the day after her 19th birthday and the day before she gets her Leaving Cert results, the Irish equivalent of high school graduation. Two months ago her Harry Potter adventure finally came to an end, when filming finished on the two-part finale, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, part one of which opens next month (fans must wait for the second part until summer 2011).

The studio’s official explanation is this:

Despite everyone’s best efforts, we were unable to convert the film in its entirety and meet the highest standards of quality. We do not want to disappoint fans who have long-anticipated the conclusion of this extraordinary journey.

Those posters are fab – and I love the interview with Evanna Lynch – Luna is one of my favourite characters, and I adore the way she plays her. It’s still so weird to see this coming to an end.
