Alan Sidney Patrick Rickman was born February 21st, 1946 in Hammersmith, London, UK. He is best known for his performances as Hans Gruber in ‘Die Hard’ and as Severus Snape in the ‘Harry Potter’ series. Alan Rickman is a renowned stage actor in modern and classical productions and a former member of the Royal Shakespeare Company. He is also known for his prominent roles as the Sheriff of Nottingham in the blockbuster film ‘Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves’, as Colonel Brandon in the Oscar-winning ‘Sense and Sensibility’ and as Judge Turpin in Tim Burton’s ‘Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street’. His voice is deemed to be the perfect male voice based on intonation, trustworthiness and soothingness.
