GRACELING BY KRISTIN CASHORE: BOOK COVERS AROUND THE WORLD

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Valerie

Welcome to Katsa’s world, where people are born with extreme skill. These people are called Graces, and they’re feared throughout. Katsa is a Grace, but even among the Graces she is different. You see, Katsa has the Grace of killing. She is unstoppable, yet she is forced to kill for her uncle Randa. This is her life until she meets Po, a prince she just might be evenly matched with.

United States

Personally, the one on the left is the better one. I love how the figure stands out and the font of the title. I love how Katsa is presented.

German

I really love the idea of the back of Katsa’s head being the cover. It’s so creative and wonderfully different. Love, love, love!

Portuguese

I love the background for this edition. This color is so pretty! I’m in love with the hair too. What is it with the awesomeness of foreign editions that makes me want to cry?

Indonesian

This one’s just okay. I like how the water’s slanted and all, but I can’t like Katsa’s appearance. I can’t get into the coloring either.

French

I love the turquoise feel of this cover. Katsa’s face is drawn really well. I am honestly impressed with this version!

Japanese

I like how the manga is done and all, but I don’t think this represents Katsa very well. I can’t connect with this cover, if that makes sense.
