examiner.com: UPCOMING VAMPIRE TV SHOWS

Since epic force known as Twilight hit the main stream media every company has been trying to match or rival it’s success. HBO came up with the vampire themed True Blood and had an instant hit. Now every TV network is trying hard to get a piece of the vampire market.

The newest vampire series is “The Vampire Diaries.” It is based on a relatively popular series by LJ Smith of the same name. The books take place in the small town of Mystic Falls, Virginia. The story centers around Elena, a teenager who lost her parents in a tragic accident. Elena’s life begins to change when she falls for Stefan the new guy in town, who just so happens to be a Vampire. Things become even more complicated when Stefan’s violent and dangerous brother moves into town, and also begins showing an interest in Elena. I can’t wait to see how this drama unfolds, the show premiers September 10th at 8/7 central.

It seems the Independent Film Channel has gotten the rights to put another popular supernatural book series onto the small screen. That’s right folks the Anita Blake books are coming to the Independent Film Channel sometime in the summer of 2010.

More here.

I am not a fan of the Anita Blake series. I just couldn’t get into them. But I might check out the show to see if I like it.

Will you watch the Anita Blank tv show? Do you watch True Blood also?
