Drop Dead Diva
Season 3: “False Alarm”
Originally Aired: June 26, 2011

Jane is still stuck not only helping to take care of Grayson but continues to help him plan for his wedding, even though her heart breaks with every favor he asks. After taking Grayson to his neurosurgeon and flirting shamelessly with the doctor, Jane decides the best course of action to take is to get over Grayson and start dating. She sets up a date with the neurosurgeon.

Stacy and Fred have a great relationship. They truly care about each other and are considerate of one another. But Stacy is stressed out because she thinks Fred doesn’t want to take the next step . . . Ahem . . . As in moving beyond the stage of kissing. Fred has never dated a human woman before let alone have any kind of physical relationship with one. He is insecure and nervous about how to handle moving forward with Stacy. After an awkward conversation with Jane (and interrupting Jane’s date with the cute nerdy neurosurgeon), Fred finally gets the courage to move forward with Stacy.

Parker gets roped into representing Terri’s new boy toy, a fireman who is being sued by a woman he helped rescue from a burning building. The case is almost dismissed since firefighters are protected under the Firefighters Shield (or something to that effect) until the prosecuting attorney reveals that Terri’s new boy toy isn’t actually a fireman. Turns out he’s really a con man. He had always wanted to be a firefighter growing up but had never been accepted in the firefighter program. He would start fires in buildings near the places he lived and save people from the burning buildings, hoping the firefighters would notice and hire him. Terri gives him a good tongue lashing and tells him to get himself some professional help.

Kim is representing a woman who is suing a plastic surgery company who she believes killed her daughter. Parker desperately seizes the opportunity. He tells Jane to persuade Kim to allow Jane to be her second chair and offers all the resources of the company. Kim agrees to let Jane help under the condition that she has no face time with Parker. Jane hires Stacy to help her with the case. She sends Stacy to go to the same company who had offered to hired the girl who had died and see what they tell her. Turns out the girl who was killed had been promised a career as a model if she got a little work done on her chest. Stacy was offered the same thing along with eleven other girls. Kim wins her case.

Jane’s date with the neurosurgeon is so successful he ends up spending the night at Jane’s place (as Stacy finds out the next morning along with the viewing audience). Jane decides to give Grayson the old dream wedding planner book she had made as Deb when she was with him.

My Thoughts: My heart still aches for Jane. But I am glad she has decided to stop trying to go after Grayson and is moving on. The neurosurgeon seems promising. Stacy and Fred are too cute together.

I only wished the sexual innuendo was not so constant in the episode. I do hope that doesn’t start becoming a bigger part of the show.  It would end up ruining my love for the show *frown* It would suck if the show started resorting to cheap sex scenes. The dancing, humor, and cast make the show so good, they don’t need to resort to such tactics.

Fun Facts: Music featured on the episode: “Prettiest Thing” by Oh Darling; “Heart of a Girl” by Peter Bradley Adams; and “Safe” by Britt Nicole.
