Darkness Before Dawn is a book about, vampires. In a world where vampires are feared, Dawn, must represent the human population to discuss with vampire Lord Valentine. Add in a fierce love triangle, and you’ve got one interesting book.

Possible spoilers!

  • Decode by Paramore.

This song makes a lot more sense once you read to the twist, but it still makes sense to someone who hasn’t read it yet. This song was in the Twilight soundtrack, so it makes sense why they reference vampires.

  • Turning Tables by Adele.

Empowering. It’s for the moments when Dawn becomes stronger, and she realizes who she truly needs. It’s for her being kick-butt after falling off that streak.

  • Enchanted by Taylor Swift.

There are some moments in Darkness Before Dawn between Victor and Dawn that are really sweet. It reminds me of this song so much! “This night is sparkling, don’t you let it go.”

  • Good Girl by Carrie Underwood.

In this book, Dawn is a total good girl. However, because of outside influences, she doesn’t stay that good for long. This is a song to the people that veered her off the perfect little girl track.

  • Call Me When You’re Sober by Evanescence.

This one has so much attitude. It reminds me of Dawn in some parts of the story when she talks back to certain characters…
