BOUND BY TIME BY A.D. TROSPER: OBS PLAYLIST

Brought to you by OBS reviewer Caro

I had a great time reading Bound By Time, and I became so inspired to create a playlist for the story, mainly for the couple of Isobel and Damien. The idea of a couple just meaning to be together and find themselves no matter what thought out time, is really appealing to me in a story, so I’m very much looking forward to the second book in the Bound series.

About Bound By Time:

It’s her destiny to break the seal and his to keep her alive.

Isobel Moore is looking forward to spending her summer break alone while her parents are overseas. Until she returns from college to find her home isn’t quite the welcoming place it used to be. The stained glass window her parents installed is more than just a beautiful piece of history; something sinister is sealed within the colored glass.

When Isobel meets her new neighbor, Damien DeLuca, she discovers the gorgeous and mysterious stranger has plenty of his own secrets. Including the knowledge of what’s happening in her home.

As her world spins out of control, she unravels a past that not only tests her limits, but also everything she thought she knew. The darkness within the window yearns to be free and it will do anything to escape—including killing Isobel. (Goodreads)

  • I Won’t Give Up by Jason Mraz

This song fits perfectly the relationship Isobel and Damien have gone through throughout the centuries. They have died countless times, he saving her or her alone without him being able to help her, and since they’re soulmates they always find their way back to each other once reborn having to go through the process of remembering their time together. This time Damien won’t let Isobel die. “I won’t give up on us. God knows I’m tough enough.”

  • Love Story by Taylor Swift

Not only does Isobel has to remember her previous lives to learn how to use her power to help her destroy Xapar but in the process she has to also remember Damien and the love she has always had for him. This song has the vibe for background music to portray the flashback moments between them, especially since, like Damien said, he always finds her at a young age once he has his memories back of her.

“We were both young when I first saw you

I close my eyes

And the flashback starts.”

  • In Another Life by Ashlee Simpson

I feel that this song conveys the first feelings Isobel and Damien have towards each other. When they see each other again, or more like, when he finds her. It’s like I think I know you from somewhere.

“I get this feeling deep inside

That somewhere somehow you passed me by

I can’t put my finger on it but

The more that I see you the more that I know.”

  • Counting Stars by Onerepublic

This song seems to have been written for Damien. It describes him perfectly! How he hopes and waits for Isobel to remember him; how he’s losing sleep; how he might be young on the outside but an old soul on the inside; how he has to obey what he is told and protect Isobel … definitely a song for Damien. Not to mention all the money he has 😉

  • All Around Me by Flyleaf

This is a two-way song. On one hand, Isobel feels how close to her and her sanity, Xapar is. He tries several time to bring her towards him so she can touch the stained glass window and for him to have control over her. And on the other hand, we have Damien’s protectiveness over her. He comes to her life just on the right moment for her to embrace her power that burns like a strong light inside her.

  • Highway To Hell by AC/DC

There’s a car chase scene nearing the end of the book where this song fits perfectly well. Demons start to attack Isobel, Damien, and Lucian and they’re definitely on the Highway to Hell.

“I’m on the highway to hell

No stop signs, speed limit

Nobody’s gonna slow me down

Like a wheel, gonna spin it

Nobody’s gonna mess me round.”

  • We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together by Taylor Swift

This is an extra song. When Isobel is on her way to her parents house, she turns on the radio and all stations are playing a song where a girl is singing about how she and her boyfriend aren’t getting back together. My bet is that it probably was this song 🙂
