Alyss of Wonderland already has new responsibilities and does her best to keep pace with the non-stop demands of being Queen while attempting to get used to Molly – her new apointed body guard – and also trying to find a few private moments with Dodge. Alyss’s life is already a challenging mix of duty, love and imagining when attacks are made on the queendom by Glass Eyes and it is assumed that Redd has returned, when it is actually King Arch trying to gain control of Wonderland and kidnaps Molly, who finds out who her mother and father really are. Hatter must disobey his Queen to rescue her, but why?

Meanwhile Redd and the Cat have found themselves on Earth – after jumping though the Heart Crystal – forming an army and leading them through the Pool of Tears back to Wonderland and unites King Arch’s people against him.  Alyss also must fight her Aunt Redd but loses her powers, Molly learns why she is a “halfer” and Alyss and Dodge feelings grow stronger with each pasting day. Battles rage, looking glasses explode and the Alyssians are once again uniting to defend White Imagination in this fast-paced second book in The Looking Glass Wars trilogy.
