Review
First of all I have to say what a wonderful opportunity it was to be able to review afterlife before it hit the shelves. I had a few friends a little envious.
To no surprise Claudia Gray has done it again for me. I was so immersed in the world she created that I could do nothing but read. No one could get my attention if I had Afterlife in my hand. Not that many books can get me that interested.
I wouldn’t say that Claudia Gray writes in a way that is extremely detailed. But her writing style is such that it allows the reader to really imagine what the Evernight Academy world looks like. It’s like I was there seeing it first hand.
Afterlife was a great ending to a wonderful love story. I am quite satisfied with the outcome, which is surprising since lately the books I’ve read leave me wanting more when there isn’t anything else coming.
And of course I have to mention the twists. So many things happened that I never thought could happen. Of course every writer is different but I have never seen (SPOILER ALERT) someone go from a human to a vampire back to human again. And done in a way that actually makes a little bit of sense if you think about it.
I along with a friend think it would be interesting if Claudia Gray (or even someone else) came out with a separate book about a what it’s like being a vampire for hundreds of years and then being turned back human. Obviously Lucas couldn’t be telling the story because he wasn’t a vampire very long. But wouldn’t it be funny.
To sum everything up, if your looking for a good book to read and you haven’t picked up the first book in the series yet, do so soon. I promise if you are a fan of Twilight, The Darkest Powers, Morganville, ect you will love these!
