Review:

Mia Brandt was at San Diego’s Star Bar, which was the perfect hunting ground.  With only one night before she ships out…..

“She wanted to feel normal in a world where IEDs, sand, and not normal were her everyday fare. Normal, and not alone. One of the soldiers here was about to volunteer to help her out with that project, even if he didn’t know it. Yet.”

Mia looks around the bar and sees Tag Johnson.  She has found the chosen one.  Or so she hopes.  Mia is not a one night stand kind of gal, usually.

“When she shipped out tomorrow, she’d be one of the guys again. Tonight, however, she wanted to feel like a girl. Give herself a special treat.”

Mia seemed so awkward when she was hitting on Tag.  It was all very cute, in an odd sort of way.  Mia accomplished her goal…a night of firsts with Tag before she had to ship out in the morning.

An enjoyable and fast paced read. I liked that a lot of the physicality was left to the imagination of the reader. With just the right amount of introduction to the characters and the author’s writing style to garner interest from this reader.

Included in the prequel was the beginning chapters of Wicked Secrets, which provided further incentive to obtain the book and keep reading Mia and Tag`s story.
