New TV Spot for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”

Check out the latest TV spot promoting “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”.  This one highlights the threat of Victoria and her army of newborn vampires to Bella and the Cullens.

Entertainment Weekly Reviews “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” Soundtrack

Entertainment Weekly recently reviewed the soundtrack for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”, giving it a B+.  Here’s a little of what they had to say about it:

Like last October’s New Moon collection, Eclipse operates as a sort of alt-party primer: original songs from the genre’s current varsity squad, with a smattering of JV newbies. Pomp-rockers Muse, practically the movies’ musical mascots by now, provide the requisite dose of Queen-meets-Rush grandiosity on ”Neutron Star Collision (Love Is Forever),” while Jack White side project the Dead Weather revel in swampy blooze-ooze on ”Rolling in on a Burning Tire.” Vampire Weekend, stripped of their habitual Afro-pop swaddling, work the harpsichord-tinged twee of ”Jonathan Low” into a pleasingly woolly tangle, though Australian chanteuse Sia’s ”My Love” does more with much less — her fragile ballad is so ethereal and otherworldly, it should be sung in Elvish.

“New Moon” and Robert Pattinson Big Winners at UK National Movie Awards

Robert Pattinson was the big winner at the UK National Movie Awards held in London, winning “Best Performance of the Year”.  Pattinson beat out 18 other nominees, including co-stars Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner.  The Twilight movies were also winners with “The Twilight Saga: New Moon” winning the “Best Movie: Fantasy” category and “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” taking the honor of “Most Anticipated Movie of the Summer”.   Pattinson accepted his award via video because he is currently in LA shooting “Water for Elephants”.

Twilight Lexicon’s Alphie’s Review of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”

As you might recall, Oprah’s audience members were treated to a special sneak-peek of the rough cut of “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”.  Alphie from Twilight Lexicon has posted a review of that screening and you can read the full review on their site.  It does contain spoilers, but it also has great insight on fans’ concerns about the wigs and the romance aspect of the story.

What do you think of the new TV spot?  By the way, this is the “exclusive clip” that was shown at the UK National Movie Awards.  Do you think that we’ll get to see a full scene or another TV spot when the next “exclusive clip” is shown at the MTV Movie Awards?

Does the score given to the soundtrack by EW affect your decision to buy it at all?  Given the fact that most of the acts are obscure indie acts, I think that a B+ is pretty darn good.  I’m anxious to hear the song by the Dead Weather (Jack White’s band from Nashville).  While I like country music, I love it when the world gets to hear that we can make some awesome non-country music here, too.  (Paramore and Kings of Leon, anyone?!)

I didn’t really find that many spoilers in the “Eclipse” review, but I found it fascinating that they plan to digitally remaster Kristen’s hair.  I continue to be amazed by technology!
