COVER ART FOR “ECLIPSE” MOVIE COMPANION AND PRE-ORDERS NOW AVAILABLE

Barnes and Noble has posted the cover art image for the Official Illustrated Movie Companion for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” and the major retailers are now taking pre-orders for the book.  Unlike the previous two films, the book will not drop in stores weeks ahead of the movie.  This installment will be available the day before the film’s release so fans will not have much time to over-analyze the content to guess what is (or isn’t) in the film.  The book retails for $18.99 (USD) and Amazon and Barnes and Noble are both pre-selling the book for just $10.25.  Links to online retailers for pre-order:

COULD “ECLIPSE” MAKE LESS MONEY THAN “NEW MOON”?

from hitfix.com:

“Eclipse’s” June 30 release should find those young tween girls out of school and flocking to the theater. Adding more intrigue to the box office gross is that “Eclipse” will also be released in IMAX theaters which feature higher ticket prices. So, a larger opening weekend is guaranteed right? No doubt, but what happens after that?

Part of the reason “New Moon” grossed so much was that non-fans interested in the pop culture phenomenon and who hadn’t even seen “Twilight” hit the multiplex to check it out. And yes, a lot of boyfriends were dragged along too. Will those moviegoers be as eager to return for another go around? Or, even taking the more lucrative summer season into effect, could “Eclipse” be blinded by a somewhat lower gross than “New Moon”?

FULL STORY

Ahhhh…It’s Easter Sunday and it’s a slow day in the Twilight Universe.  At least I have beautiful weather to enjoy today!

Do any of you plan to attend the Eclipse premiere in June?  Has anyone attended any of the other premieres?  (We’d love for you to share your stories with us if you have!)

Who plans to pre-order the movie companion?  I am seriously thinking about it because that’s a great savings that they’re offering vs. the retail price.  I may just pre-order it along with the Bree Tanner novella…and a copy of “Remember Me”…and probably a few other things.  🙂

What are your thoughts on the Hit Fix article?  Do you think that the other summer releases will take any of the box office draw from “Eclipse” or do you think that it will do as well or better than “New Moon”?  I’m inclined to think that it will be even bigger because it’s in the summer and school is out.  It’s not like “New Moon” didn’t have any competition because “The Blind Side” hit theaters at the same time and both movies did exceptionally well.
