CHRIS COLUMBUS ENABLES NEIL JORDAN’S ADATATION OF NEIL GAIMAN’S ‘THE GRAVEYARD BOOK’
Source: slashfilm.com
In October of 2008 we heard from Neil Gaiman that a film was in development based on his novel The Graveyard Book. A few months later, Gaiman revealed that Neil Jordan would write and direct. And that, for the most part, is all we’ve known about the project.
Now a report on the slate of films for Chris Columbus‘ company 1492 Pictures and financing partner CJ Entertainment out of South Korea suggests that the film is coming closer to being a reality. That’s a joy; not only is Jordan a potentially great choice for the material, but after a week of regurgitated reboot and sequel news, this is news of a film that could have a unique identity.
Deadline reports on the development, reiterating that Jordan will write and direct the live-action film. Gaiman is producing with Framestore (who have been on board since the beginning) and Wayfare Entertainment; CJ will co-finance the film and distribute in Korea and Japan.

‘ LOST BOYS : THE THIRST’ TRAILER
Source: www.realtvaddict.com
Yet another attempt to ride the cash cow that was the original Lost Boys film is in the works. Lost Boys: The Thirst is on its way to the big screen, and the makers are saying it will be much bigger than the second attempt, Lost Boys: The Tribe, that released straight to DVD in 2008.
Frog Brother, Corey Feldman, returns to the series, which at this point isn’t enough to convince me to watch it. Especially not on the big screen. Apparently, Feldman is also an executive producers for the film, which was shot in South Africa. That isn’t making me want to watch it either.
The Thirst promises to have more blood, nudity, scars, violence and natural-looking vampires. Does that mean they’re going to sparkle like Edward Cullen?

Hot on the heels of AVATAR comes THE ADJUSTMENT BUREAU (September 2010), Hollywood’s next big budget science fiction romance. I fell in love with Neil Gaiman’s ‘The Graveyard Book’ the moment I heard him read an excerpt of it when I was at a signing in Sydney, and am THRILLED at the prospect of a movie about it!YAY! I’m not expecting the movie to follow the book to the letter – it would be hard to get all the nuances and intricacies down to a few hours in the cinema – but, like the other adaptations of Mr Gaiman’s work, I’m expecting the essence of the story to be alive and kicking

Percy Jackson is about to be kicked out of boarding school…again. And that’s the least of his troubles. Lately, mythological monsters and the gods of Mount Olympus seem to be walking straight out of the pages of Percy’s Greek mythology textbook and into his life. And worse, he’s angered a few of them. Zeus’s master lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy is the prime suspect.

ERICA CERRA DRAWN TO PERCY JACKSON MOVIE BY HARRY POTTER
Author: Staar84 | Filed under: Movie News, News Blogfrom reelz channel
Chris Columbus, who’s directing the movie adaptation of Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, has tried to brush aside the obvious comparisons to the Harry Potter series. The parallels to this tale of a modern-day boy who discovers that he’s the son of the Greek god Poseidon are fairly obvious, though. Not all of the cast are staying on message, either. Erica Cerra, who plays the goddess Hera, tells Sci-Fi Wire that it was precisely the similarity between the projects that made her so enthusiastic about her role in the picture.
I’m a big Harry Potter fan. I have all the books. I’ve seen all the movies a billion and one times. When I heard what Percy Jackson was about I read it and pushed, pushed, pushed to be in the movie.

I saw the preview for this a few weeks ago, and it looks kind of cool. I haven’t read the books though.
Are you looking forward to this movie?
