What is it with teens and vampires? Everywhere you look there are Twilight posters, books, movies, T-shirts, and calendars.

The new releases that come out each month have more to do with blood suckers, werewolves, and dark themes than ever before.

Teens are attracted to love that is forbidden. That has been shown through the ages all the way back to Romeo and Juliet. Movies are filled with love where the parents do not approve. For as long as movies and books have been made, teens have been sneaking out their bedroom window to meet the love of their dreams or waking up to an Edward Cullen who just magically appears as they sleep.

I think the attraction to vampires is more than just about the dark side. I think they symbolize our human nature. We all have a dark side.
