VAMPIRE DIAIRIES PRODUCERS WANT TO DEFY EXPECTATIONS
Last summer, executive producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson took L.J. Smith’s books and turned them into the ‘Vampire Diaries.’ The show was initially marketed as a ‘Twilight’ clone. In a few episodes, though, ‘Vampire Diaries’ proved that it was the heir to the great ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’.
Indeed, what began as a love triangle between a noble vampire, a teenage girl, and his gloriously evil brother evolved into a sophisticated series with a complex mythology and the best cliffhangers on television. The much-anticipated finale, airing May 13 on the CW, promises to be a best episode yet – as Plec and Williamson told us, they hope it defies expectations.

VAMPIRE DIARIES DEATH POOL: WHO WILL DIE ON THE SEASON FINALE
Death is coming to Mystic Falls.
Producers have confirmed that at least one significant character will die on this week’s season finale of The Vampire Diaries, a twist that has fans in an understandable uproar.
While some believe the show will shock us and kill off Stefan or Damon, allow us to put those rumors to rest: ain’t gonna happen. But anyone else? Pretty much fair game.

Odds of dying: 25-1

NINA DOBREV CALLS IAN SOMERHALDER AND PAUL WESLEY ‘INCREDIBLE’
It’s no secret that the cast of “Vampire Diaries,” gets along pretty well. In fact, a few of the show’s actors have told us that they’re bffs on set and off. So, when Nina Dobrev dropped by MTV News last week, we had to ask her whether the same held true for her and the two boys she films with most often — Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder.
“They are just great guys to be around,” Nina gushed. “It’s awesome that I get paid to hang with these two guys and work with them and the rest of the cast.” Now, that’s what we love to hear!
Of course, once we learned how close she was to Paul and Ian, we couldn’t help but pick her brain a little on on what both guys are like when they’re not in character.
“Ian and Paul are very different and similar in many ways,” she said. “I think that when people start hanging around each other, they start to pick on on each other’s quirks and taste in music, apparently.”

I agree…Vampire Diaires started out as kind of a teenager soap opera but has turned into a pretty good show. Your thoughts?
Which character do you think be be killed off the series? I say it’s not going to be one of the younger set. It will definitely be an ‘adult’.
