CHRIS WEITZ WANTS TO MAKE YOU CRY?
www.people.com: “We’ve tried our best to deliver on the romantic scenes in the film, and I would like to be able to produce more tears than any movie before, if possible,” Weitz told PEOPLE at the Hollywood Film Festival’s Hollywood Awards Monday of capturing moments in the Twilight saga’s love triangle. “If we could only weigh them with some kind of cubic tear measure!”

WHY MONTEPULCIANO? AND JANE IS BAD NEWS!
ww.mtv.com: One of the most exciting changes from last year’s “Twilight” is purely visual in nature: shooting the third act of the film on location in Italy.
“Wow, am I glad we were able to shoot there,” Weitz said with a laugh in a recent phone interview with MTV News. “We went to about 12 different hilltop towns in Tuscany, which was both delightful and exhausting, because it had to be done relatively quickly. Montepulciano had the most symmetrical main square that I could find, so that was the winner for that reason.”
The “bad guys” are another big change from “Twilight.” In addition to continued baddies Victoria (Rachelle Lefevre) and Laurent (Edi Gathegi), veteran actors Michael Sheen and Dakota Fanning joined the fray as two members of the Volturi: Aro and Jane. Both actors got a chance to play something new. For Sheen, it was a chance to play a vampire, versus the werewolf he had played in the “Underworld” series. For Fanning, it was the chance to be the bad girl for once.
“She’s never really gotten to play a bad person before, probably because she is a very good person. She is really a lovely young person. But I think she had some fun playing, really, the most evil of all the bad guys,” Weitz said. “[Jane]’s bad news. Very bad.”

A CONVERSATION WITH PETER FACINELLI
www.vanityfair.com: What would you say is the one major thing that has changed about your life since starting the franchise?
I’m traveling a lot more than I used to and interacting with a lot more people. The fan base on this, I don’t know how else to explain it … it’s a cultural phenomenon. People will actually hop on a plane to see you. Sometimes I do these charity events, and people fly in to come and see me.
Speaking of family, will you please give me one word to describe each of the Cullen clan actors starting with Kellan Lutz? Ok. [Laughs] Goofy!
Nikki Reed: Complex.
Jackson Rathbone: Artistic.
Kristen Stewart: Sweet.
Ashley Greene: Pixie-ish, she’s like a fairy—she’s so light on her feet. Bubbly, that’s the word.
Rob Pattinson: Mmm, Rob. Rob’s a good one. It’s hard to narrow down to one. So many words come to mind! Brooding, tortured … but he’s a good kid. What’s the word for a solidly good guy?
Solid?
Solid. He is. He’s solid.

www.dreadcentral.com: A new clip entitled “Wolf Pack Sizzle” debuted during Spike TV’s Scream 2009 broadcast and quickly thereafter appeared online via MSN Movies. It plays like a behind-the-scenes DVD featurette on the Quileute wolf pack and how they were CGI animated.
Director Chris Weitz, Kristen Stewart, members of the effects team, and of course Taylor Lautner and his furry friends Alex Meraz, Chaske Spencer, Kiowa Gordon, and Bronson Pelletier all appear in the footage from Spike and MSN.

WHAT DID THE NEW MOON STARS KEEP IN THEIR TRAILERS WHILE ON SET?
www.hollywoodcrushmmtv.com: “The most interesting thing I keep in my trailer is myself,” Ashley Greene admitted in a jokingly pretentious voice.
She then went on to give her real answer, saying she had her dog with her on set during the filming of “New Moon.” “She’s really nice to come back to after you do this long crazy scene and then you open the door and there’s this little dog there that’s, like, the most excited ever to see you, every single time.”
Kellan Lutz got to show off his macho and sweet side with his two confessions. The first fell under the pretentious nature of Ashley’s first admission.
“I mean I have 20 pound weights,” he said, and added, “which I never use because they’re kind of too light for me now.” Yes, Kellan, we know you’re beefier than Taylor Lautner.
His second was a little bit weirder. “I have a jaw breaker. One of those big jawbreakers that I always leave in there,” he said. “And so every time I’m in there, I slowly try to get to the center. That’s how I know how long I’ve been sitting in my trailer: How far that goes down and what color I’m at.”
“This is going to sound really ridiculous but I keep elastic bands for working out,” Nikki confessed. “I’ve recently become a big fan of the gym. And so I do a lot of aerobics videos and work out stuff. Wow, that’s really embarrassing.”What should have been more embarrassing was that she kept stealing Momma Cullen Elizabeth Reaser’s tub of cashews over the course of filming.
“There’s a big tub of cashews in my trailer,” Elizabeth answered with a laugh. “Nikki’s always stealing my tub of cashews, but we share. We’re always kind of going in and out of each others’ trailers.”

REASER IS NOTHING LIKE ESME
www.mtv.com: MTV: As the “Saga” continues filming, do you feel like you’re growing into your character more or less?
Reaser: No, I feel like I’m nothing like my character. It’s interesting to me that I get cast as mothers and really maternal, sweet, nice people. … Maybe I have a vulnerability or something; maybe that’s what it is. But other than that, I don’t relate to this type of character…

NEW MOON IS #1 ON BILLBOARD
www.billboard.com: The Twilight Saga: New Moon” soundtrack rises to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 this week, selling 153,000 copies (up 33%) in its first full week of release, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Summit/Chop Shop/Atlantic album, which features music by Death Cab for Cutie, Thom Yorke and the Killers, arrived on the chart last week with 115,000 after an early release last Friday (Oct. 16) pushed it onto the list with just three days of sales.
“New Moon” is the second soundtrack this year to top the Billboard 200, following the “Hannah Montana: the Movie” album on the chart dated May 2. “New Moon” is, of course, the sequel to “Twilight,” which saw its soundtrack debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 less than a year ago, on the tally dated Nov. 22, 2008, with 165,000.
