Nikki Reed Talks Exploring Rosalie’s Backstory
www.mtv.com: As avid book readers well know, once a movie studio decides to adapt a favorite novel into a feature film, certain changes occur. With regard to Stephenie Meyer’s “Twilight Saga,” the filmmakers and screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg have done their best to stay as true to the source material as possible. But one expository aspect that is lost from book to screen is the various backstories of the supporting characters.
When MTV News recently caught up with actress Nikki Reed, who was out promoting her upcoming indie “Last Day of Summer,” she talked about the challenge of portraying Rosalie’s relatability for non-book readers, as well as making the most of her screen time.

Official local casting directors have been hired for THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN. Stuart Aikins reprises casting duties for Vancouver-based casting. Fincannon and Associates Casting is handling talent searches for Louisiana-based casting. Both work under LA-based casting director Debra Zane. There are no other casting organizations involved with the production at this time.

‘Twilight’ Author Makes $40 Million Without Writing a Single Book
www.luxist.com: Despite not having written a single book in the past year, Twilight author Stephenie Meyer raked in an eye-popping $40 million from her sexy vampire tales, Forbes reports. Meyer landed the second place spot on the magazine’s new ranking of the world’s highest paid authors, easily eclipsing Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling. About $7 million of Meyer’s 2009 windfall came from movies adapted from the Twilight series, with most of the balance attributable to previously published works. In June the third Twilight adaptation made $175 million in its first six days.
Breaking Dawn Crew Concerned Over Shooting in Rio?
www.thedeadbolt.com: Although part of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn will be filmed in Rio de Janeiro, the Breaking Dawn plans in Rio may be shelved after a recent firefight and hostage taking incident gave cause for concern.
According to ABC News, the film crew for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn is uneasy about shooting scenes for Breaking Dawn in Rio de Janeiro after a hostage situation at an upscale hotel over the weekend. Riofilme, the company promoting film production in the city, reveals that because of the hostage situation and ensuing firefight, Summit Entertainment is in emergency talks with city officials.
