Roberts and Highmore Doing Homework
Emma Roberts and Freddie Highmore are starring in the teen romance Homework, which is currently filming in New York, says Variety. The cast also includes Michael Angarano, Alicia Silverstone, Elizabeth Reaser, Blair Underwood, Sam Robards and Rita Wilson.
The trade says the film is “about a homework-averse high school student (Highmore) who strikes up an unexpected friendship with the girl he’s loved from a distance (Roberts).”
Angarano plays a graduate of the high school, while Wilson and Sam Robards play the mother and stepfather, respectively, of Highmore’s character.
Writer/director Gavin Wiesen is making his feature debut on the project. Gigi Films’ Gia Walsh and Kara Baker, Darren Goldberg and Mint Pictures’ P. Jennifer Dana are producing. SOURCE
Twilight’s Peter Facinelli auction piece rivals the most impressive celebrity crafts
It seems that Peter Facinelli would do anything for a good cause—even if “anything” means creating bizarre feline-driven art. In partnership with an eco-friendly program called Together We Can, Peter is raising awareness about cat food aluminum can recycling. His contribution? A lot of tweeting about the issue (@peterfacinelli) and an original sculpture to be auctioned off for the cause. His 8-inch long piece weighs less than one pound and is fashioned from used cans of Friskies and Fancy Feast.
Recycling a single aluminum cat food can saves enough energy to power a 60-watt bulb for two hours, according to the Together We Can web site. Unlike other raw materials, which may “wear out” if handled too often, aluminum can be recycled over and over.
So how much is a Peter Facinelli original worth? The final sale price has yet to be determined. E-bay bidding started on Monday. As of the writing of this article, the high bid for Peter’s piece has reached $100 from a starting bid of $0.99, and currently leads the pack vis a vis the art of his peers.
If you want to support the effort and a small sculpture just won’t do, take a look at his wife, Actress Jennie Garth’s, cat food floral arrangement. Other stars auctioning off cat food can items include Katie Brown and Roberta Flack. All proceeds from the auction will be donated to Together We Can.
Peter devotes an astonishing amount of his time to charitable work, regularly making appearances for Alex’s Lemonade Stand, and also raising money for other great causes. ‘Stephenie Meyer summer’ with Breaking Dawn paperback
Atom is to publish the long-awaited paperback edition of Stephenie Meyer’s Breaking Dawn this summer, two years after it was originally published in hardback.
The title will be available from 3rd August priced £7.99, with the publication date coinciding with the American paperback release.
Samantha Smith, Atom editorial director, said: “With everything Stephenie Meyer we try to do everything at the same time, so one set of fans doesn’t get the book before the other set of fans. She is one of those true brand authors. Her fans are her fans and they will buy her books no matter what time of the year they come out.”
The paperback edition has been a long time coming, with the hardback first published in the UK on 4th August, 2008.
“It has been quite a long time, but the demand hasn’t dropped,” said Smith. “These are books people love and people want to collect.”
According to Nielsen Bookscan, Meyer’s Twilight novels have sold 6,565,632 copies, taking more
than £38 million through UK book retailer tills. Breaking Dawn has sold 1,271,861 copies, amounting to £11.7m.
Kate Skipper, Waterstone’s children’s buyer, said: “What with the Bree Tanner novel, the new movie and, at long last, the paperback of Breaking Dawn, this is going to be a Stephenie Meyer summer. We are constantly being asked when Breaking Dawn will be out in paperback so it is wonderful to finally have an answer for these passionate fans.”
Smith said: “With all things Meyer everyone always gets so excited. It’s really been tremendous. The support from retailers has been fantastic.”
The jacket image on the paperback will remain the same as on the hardback. Smith explained: “We’ve kept the images consistent across all of our Stephenie Meyer hardbacks and paperbacks. The Twilight Saga images are so iconic—there’s such a strong association with them from the fans and the retailers—that I can’t imagine changing it.”
Publicity and marketing tactics are to be finalised. Smith added that “brilliant plans” were being discussed. However, Meyer will not be coming to the UK to promote the title. SOURCE
