SUMMIT RELEASES “ECLIPSE” ONE-SHEET MOVIE POSTER
Earlier today, Summit Entertainment released the first one-sheet movie poster for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” via their official Twilight Twitter account. It features Bella with Edward and Jacob in the background with the tag line, “It All Begins…With A Choice.” Fans will recognize the tag line from the trailers released earlier this month as the movie centers around Bella’s choice to become a vampire like the Cullens and her having to choose between Edward and Jacob.
Enjoy!!
PETER FACINELLI ON THE SENSUALITY OF VAMPIRES, ON-SET ROMANCES, AND TWITTER
from independent.co.uk:
In a recent article in the British news website, The Independent, Peter Facinelli discussed his roles in “Nurse Jackie” and “Twilight” along with on-set romances and his interaction with fans via Twitter.
How have you coped with the attention from fans that Twilight must have brought you?
It doesn’t really affect me on a daily level. I don’t get mobbed like Robert Pattinson (who plays his step-son Edward Cullen in the Twilight Saga). I really enjoy corresponding with fans. Any time you meet someone who is excited about your work it’s gratifying. It’s better than having people throw rotten tomatoes at you! The most attention I get is kids ringing the doorbell of my house.
Why do you think people are so interested in vampires and the supernatural?
I think there’s a sensuality about vampires. A monstrousness. They offer up eternal life in exchange for blood. There’s something intense about wanting someone so much that you have to devour them. The biting of the neck. It’s sexy.
KELLAN LUTZ TO PLAY POSEIDON IN “WAR OF THE GODS”
from mtv.com:
Lutz has been cast in the role of Poseidon, Greek god of the sea, in “War of the Gods,” an upcoming swords and sandals blockbuster from “The Fall” and “The Cell” director Tarsem Singh. Lutz joins Henry Cavill, Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto in the growing cast, which is expected to assemble next month for the start of production.
The story follows young Greek warrior Theseus (Cavill) as he leads his fellow soldiers in a… well… a war of the gods, at the bidding of King Hyperion (Rourke). The Theseus of Greek myth is the founder of Athens and son of Poseidon, though it’s not known how closely “War” will follow established stories. Pinto will play Phaedra, Theseus’ second wife.
FIVE REASONS YOU SHOULD WATCH TWILIGHT: NEW MOON (EVEN IF YOU DON’T WANT TO)
A guest blogger for NationalPost.com had a review copy of the “New Moon” DVD and recently listed five reasons why you should watch the film – even if you don’t want to.
5 Reasons you should watch Twilight: New Moon (even though you really don’t want to.)
1. It was filmed in Vancouver and during a couple of scenes, you can play “Spot your Favourite Vancouver Hangouts.”
2. You can relish the irony of a devout Mormon writing a book that predominantly features buff men who can never wear shirts.
3. Oscar nominee and Up in The Air star Anna Kendrick is in it and manages to save every one of her scenes.
CHRIS WEITZ COMES CLEAN ABOUT “NEW MOON” DVD DELETED SCENES
from deadbolt.com:
According to NBC’s PopCornBiz, which recently interviewed Chris Weitz for the New Moon DVD, the New Moon director admitted that he was wrong. “I’m basically a big, fat liar,” Weitz confessed. “I put it out there that there are deleted scenes, but I just realized there aren’t. It was an honest mistake.”
Chris Weitz outlined how the New Moon DVD deleted scenes mistake was made and that it was all about marketing on the part of Summit Entertainment. Although the New Moon DVD does come with a “Making of” featurette and a commentary from Chris Weitz, the studio decided to save the deleted scenes for future New Moon DVD releases. “Shall we be honest, it’s marketing,” Weitz admitted. When PopCornBiz asked if it was about more bang for the buck, Weitz responded with, “I think that’s the case, but you said it, not me.”
So…what do you think about the official one-sheet that was released today? I love the ominous looking clouds in the background and I think that Rob’s vampire makeup looks good. Just for comparison, I looked at images of Kristen from the first movie poster and the differences in her appearance and demeanor are so striking! Kristen really looked like a little kid almost for the first film.
Just a little interesting factoid…Kellan’s co-star in the “War of the Gods” movie, Henry Cavill, was Stephenie Meyer’s first choice for an actor to play Edward.
In the blogger’s five reasons to watch “New Moon”, I totally agree with his comments on Anna Kendrick. Her rant in Port Angeles was so wonderful!
I have to admit that I had not noticed that my DVD didn’t have deleted scenes (yet). Now that I know that, I’m really bummed and ticked that Summit would use that as a way to sell additional DVDs to fans who have paid to see the movie several times in the theater, bought a DVD, bought the soundtrack, and have shelled out money for licensed Twilight merchandise. Greedy much?
