“ECLIPSE” STUNTS MADE NIKKI REED WANT TO DIE
At last we have something to report on Nikki Reed! It seems like she vanished after “New Moon” hit theaters last fall. In a recent interview with People, she commented on what it was like to film the fight scenes and the stunt work involved in “Eclipse”.
“We were doing a lot of stunts, too much in too little time,” Reed, 21, said, calling life on set “tough.” “The hardest part is trying to fly around on cables in the woods at 6 o’clock, fighting the sunset and stuff. And looking like we’re not cold and super powerful, when we just want to die.”
NIKKI REED AND CHRIS WEITZ ON “BREAKING DAWN” DIRECTOR RUMORS
MTV recently caught up with Twilight Saga star Nikki Reed at one of the many “New Moon” DVD release parties on Friday night, along with “New Moon” director Chris Weitz, and they shared their thoughts with them on the rumors surrounding who might direct “Breaking Dawn”.
Nikki: “I was trying to ask them earlier today, and they wouldn’t give me anything,” she said. “But all the directors that you mentioned, I mean, that would be fantastic, both [Van Sant and Coppola]. Either one. I mean, we would be honored.”
“New Moon” director Chris Weitz echoed her sentiments, saying the Coppola choice was an “interesting idea” and that Van Sant directing the film(s) “would be bitchin’.”
KELLAN LUTZ SURPRISES FANS ON “ELLEN”
As a part of the promotional push for this weekend’s release of the “New Moon” DVD, Kellan Lutz surprised fans on “Ellen” on Friday when he appeared as the “free gift” that came with Ellen’s copy of the DVD.
GRAPHIC NOVEL PUTS “TWILIGHT” IN A NEW LIGHT FOR STEPHENIE MEYER FANS
from USA Today:
The hardcover book, illustrated and adapted by South Korean artist Young Kim, was created with author Meyer’s oversight.
“When it comes to really seeing Stephenie Meyer’s personal vision of the Twilight property, this is as close an opportunity there is to accomplishing that,” says Yen’s Kurt Hassler. “Stephenie was very specific and has very clear images of what the characters look like in her head.”
Meyer likes what she sees in Kim’s depictions of sexy teen vampire Edward Cullen and Bella Swan, the girl he loves. She writes in the introduction that seeing Kim’s drawings “brought me back to my first ‘Twilight’ experience … suddenly I would be feeling all the same things I felt that first summer while I was writing their (Edward and Bella’s) story.”
PETER FACINELLI ATTENDS “NEW MOON” DVD RELEASE PARTY IN NYC
from examiner.com:
Twilight Fans from all over New York City gathered at the Best Buy on Union Square at Midnight to meet Peter Facinelli (who plays Dr. Carlisle) and purchase their “New Moon” DVD. Originally, some fans had thought that Facinelli would be appearing at Borders Books on the Upper West Side, but at 7:53pm last night he tweeted to his 1.5million plus followers that he would be appearing at Best Buy: “I’ll b @ NM DVD RELEASE PARTY 2night @Best Buy by Union Square 52E.14st NY doors open @midnight. 1st 75 people get a special treat:).”
Fans got to chat with Facinelli and take photos with him. He also signed copies of the “New Moon” DVD! According to fans, it was a pretty laid back environment.
I have to say that I’m glad to have something to report about Nikki. It really does seem like she vanished after “New Moon” was released. Granted, she’s promoting the DVD release, but still. I have to commend the cast for their hard work in doing the fight scenes and doing their own stunts. I’m sure that their hard work will all be worth it when we’re talking about how awesome the fight scenes are when the film hits theaters this summer.
The fact that Chris Weitz used the word “bitchin'” in the MTV interview to describe another director’s work made me love him even more!
What did you think of Kellan’s surprise appearance on “Ellen”? I love her attitude toward all of the stars. It seems like she genuinely likes the Twilight films and the cast from what I’ve seen in the interviews. She doesn’t seem to have the contempt that many in the media (outside of the gossip shows) have for them.
Have you purchased the graphic novel yet? I got mine yesterday when I picked up my “New Moon” DVD. I’ve gone through a few pages, but I’ve been too busy watching the movie and cleaning house to get very far into it. I love the cover and the images that I’ve seen so far. It’s interesting to see how they differ from the casting in the films, the images in my head, and how similar they are in those same ways.
Did you attend any of the release parties with the cast members present? If so, we’d love to hear about your experience.
