OBSESSION FOR VAMPIRES
As most of you probably know, between the last episode of True Blood, and this week’s episode, the show was nominated for an Emmy for Dramatic Series. So how does a one of the six best series currently on television open up right after getting said nod? By having Vampire Bill dump Sookie over the phone, telling her about how he and Lorena had sex, and uttering the immortal line:
“We f**ked like only two vampires can.”
That’s how you win Emmys, son.
I’m tempted to end my recap there, as True Blood probably hit its pinnacle of ridiculousness in Stephen Moyer’s reading of that line – but the good news is that after three slow moving episodes, we’re back to all the blood, all the insanity, and all the butt nekkidness we expect from the Emmy Nominated True Blood.

NELSAN ELLIS BRINGS EXTENDED LIFE TO TRUE BLOOD CHARACTER
It scarcely seems plausible that an ordinary human could be the most vivid character on HBO’s ghoulish “True Blood,” a show teeming with supernatural, larger-than-death freaks.
Then again, “ordinary” is probably not the best way to describe Lafayette Reynolds, an emphatically gay man in a small Southern town. Brilliantly played by Nelsan Ellis, Lafayette is a redneck-thumping, drug-dealing diva with a tongue saltier than the gumbo he serves up as the grill cook at Merlotte’s honky tonk.

I agree with the fact that the first three episodes were slow as molasses. In fact it didn’t even feel like I watched anything substantial. It was a state of waiting. With this new episode True Blood is back! Finally! I admit I am liking this faux dark and brooding and evil Bill that he’s faking for the sake of saving Sookie. This is how he was in the first few episodes. You really didn’t know what was going on with him. The brood suits him well. What do you think?
True Blood would not be the same without Lafayette. I am happy they decided to keep him alive. He brings so much to the show, even if he doesn’t have a large amount of airtime. “Ring, ring, hookah”.
