CAPRICA Premieres Tonight! Get Re-Caprica’d Before The Premiere
via Sci Fi Mafia
SyFy’s prequel series to the acclaimed Battlestar Galactica reboot returns with season 1.5 tonight! Caprica fans, the wait is soon to be over. These new episodes takes us deeper into the origins of Cylon race and how the lives of Graystone and the Adama families are woven together in this story born from mutual grief.
Executive producer David Eick talks about what the second half of season one will bring:
“Daniel Graystone’s creation—the early-model Cylon known as the U-87—emerges as a critical story point. Due to the bad PR Daniel has endured since his prized creation, the Holoband, [was blamed for] the emergence of terrorist cells on Caprica, Daniel shifts his company’s focus to the perfection of artificial intelligence and its proliferation throughout the culture as the ultimate `helper’: Never gets tired. Never asks for a raise. Never quits on the job.”

SyFy’s THE RESISTANCE Product of New TV-Web Paradigm
By Tara Bennett at Newsorama
Technology has become the great equalizer especially when it comes to creating potential projects for television and film. Little more than a decade ago, only studios and visual effects companies with deep pockets were able to present high-concept project pitches since they could were the few that could swallow the often exorbitant costs. But then HD cameras became consumer affordable and pro-quality digital editors and visual effects software became stock in every PC and Mac which opened the medium to anyone with talent. Now there’s a whole new generation of talented amateurs blowing the doors off development offices in Hollywood with projects like The Resistance airing on SyFy on October 4th.
The Resistance is a one hour sci-fi pilot about a virus that’s run amuck in a dystopian world called Aurordeca. Unfolding like a live-action graphic novel, it features anime sequences by artist Chad Chadwick that then transform into live-action chapters that reveal the story of heroine Lana Strife (Katrina Law). Originally conceived as a web series by young filmmakers Adrian Picardi and Eric Ro, The Resistance was found online by cable channel Starz and now its part of the current wave of impressive, original web productions that are changing the way Hollywood finds and invests in developing potential new series and film franchises.

Denis O’Hare Sinks His Teeth Into Debate on True Blood vs. Broadway Fans
By Michael Mellini at Broadway.com
After a sensationally over the top run on season three of HBO’s uber-popular vampire series True Blood, Tony winner Denis O’Hare (who played the show’s murderous King of Mississippi) has found a new set of admirers on his way back to the stage in the forthcoming Broadway production of Elling. So, which fans are more hard-core: Broadway-goers or vampire lovers? “It’s a tossup,” O’Hare recently told Broadway.com. “Broadway fans have to travel here to see their shows, so they have a level of commitment that’s more than just tuning in every week.” Thanks to TV, however, O’Hare can feel his profile rising: “I get left alone for the most part, but then suddenly somebody will scream, ‘Oh my God! You’re the King of Mississippi!’”
O’Hare is prepping to return to Broadway for the first time since 2007’s Inherit the Wind in the mental hospital comedy Elling opposite Brendan Fraser, Jennifer Coolidge and Richard Easton. “I’m scared and nervous,” he said. “I forgot how much work [Broadway] is.” Asked if he’s offered any advice to Fraser as the Mummy star makes his Broadway debut, O’Hare said, “I think he’ll be just fine. He doesn’t need any help from me. I’m really looking forward to working with him, and I love this script.”

Creepy new Walking Dead trailer amps up the zombie tension
By Nathalie Caron at Blastr
Halloween is exactly 25 days away (not that we’re counting) but it’s never seemed so far away! That’s because the latest trailer for The Walking Dead is getting us psyched all over again about AMC’s upcoming six-part series.
Rick Grimes (who seems to be played to perfection by Andrew Lincoln) looks to be an intriguing character, the zombies look terrific and the show looks to be “actiony” enough to keep everyone—even non-horror fans—interested. That horse-riding scene in the city? It’s utterly awesome. (And did we mention those terrific-looking zombies?)

Battlestar Creator Rebooting Wild Wild West
by Matt Fowler at IGN
See, Wild Wild West is a show that used to be on TV. And if you’re of a certain age then you’ve heard of it. And if you’re of another age, you’ve only heard of the crappy Will Smith movie based on it. But since it once existed, by Hollywood law, it must get REMADE! Yes, according to EW.com’s Michael Ausiello, the 60’s sci-fi western The Wild Wild West is in the early stages of being rebooted by…Ron Moore (BSG, Caprica)!
Well, to be fair, the guy did take an old 70’s show, Battlestar Galactica, and reboot it into a masterwork.

Ron Moore would definitely be the right guy to reboot Wild Wild West. And as popular as steampunk is now, it might work. I’m excited for Futurama on dvd, although Volume 5 doesn’t match the first four. I love watching special features though, so I’ll have to get it the day it comes out.
What did you think of the new Walking Dead Trailer? Are you excited for new Caprica?
