True Blood Renewed for 6th Season!!

True Blood was picked up for its sixth season.

True Blood is currently in the midst of its fifth season, which will be its last with showrunner and creator Alan Ball at the helm. In February, HBO announced that while Ball would remain involved in the series as an executive producer, by stepping down he would have more time to develop new programs for HBO and Cinemax.

“Because of the fantastic cast, writers, producers and crew, with whom I have been lucky enough to work these past five years, I know I could step back and the show will continue to thrive as I look forward to new and exciting ventures,” said Ball in a statement at the time.

All the True Blood fans out there just let out a huge sigh of relief to know that their favorite vampires and werewolves will be back for another year!!  Now let’s just hope that the current season gets out of the mediocre funk it’s been in for the past couple of weeks and starts being the great show we know it can be!!

I’m also curious to see how different the show will be with a different show runner!
