Good things may come to those who wait, but trouble waits for no one…
Cheating is a dealbreaker…or so Mandy’s always thought. But when she catches her husband getting some “strange,” she realizes how hard it is to cut and run, or even file papers. She agrees to a month of counseling, which will give her time to grieve the loss of her marriage before she has to tell the world–and the kids. Then she meets Adam, who gives her a hunky–if mysterious–shoulder to cry on, and that thirty-day waiting period seems like an eternity.
Adam has no problem confessing that he’s watched Mandy from his window for months as she runs by his house. If he told her why, though, she’d freak out for sure. He knows they’ve got a future together, if he can think of a way to explain his past. And he’s sure the rat-bastard who cheated on her is putting the moves on her again, but he won’t be the revenge guy. The month-long cooling off period she agreed to is lasting forever, and might just be indefinite, if trouble keeps getting in their way.
Content Warning: Eccentric old lady pushing salt-of-the-earth advice, bossy big brother, kooky counselor, super-secretive hunk, and perfect justice served amidst adult situations and language. (Goodreads)
Review:
Mandy thought she had a pretty good life. She has a successful business, two healthy children and a beautiful home. Until she finds her husband in a compromising position with a neighbor’s girlfriend…
Mandy is torn about what to do. Part of her wants to work on her marriage for the sake of her kids but the other part is telling her that the handsome stranger she met while running near the cemetery is worth taking another chance at love.
Adam has seen Mandy running by and day after day he works up the courage to go out and speak to her. She confides in him about her marriage and soon the attraction between them can no longer be denied. Mandy has to make a choice. Can she forgive her husband knowing that he will never change or can she open herself up enough to let in the enigmatic and mysterious Adam?
Trouble Won’t Wait was both an emotional and funny read. You can’t help but relate to Mandy and feel both her pain and her joy. You put yourself in her position asking yourself what you would do. You also find yourself being swept away by Adam and intoxicated by his raw devotion for her. This was an unexpected and enjoyable find that will have the hardcore romantic reading way into the night.
