Synopsis:

OH LOOK, there’s an EGG in your book!

But this isn’t any old egg – there’s a dragon in it . . . And pretty soon she has set your book ON FIRE. OH NO!

Tom Fletcher and Greg Abbott have created a fantastically interactive sequel to their bestselling There’s a Monster in Your Book. Children will love stroking, poking and flapping the book to make magic happen as they turn the pages. Can they help Little Dragon find a way to stop the fire and fly off on her own adventure?

Review:

There’s a Dragon in Your Book is a cute, interactive book that would be a blast to read to and with your young child. It starts with an egg, but oh my what a cute baby dragon hatches from that egg. The reader/child is asked to use their imagination and help with things that happen with this dragon in the book. I love that so much. The story is adorable and the illustrations are too cute. This book has what it takes to grab the attention of any child and keep them interested and actively involved in the book.

As I said, the author asks the child to use their imagination and that seems to be something sorely missing today. I think this will help very young children learn how to imagine things, how to dream of what can be and that is wonderful. Yes there is fire, but the author brings up ways to put it out in a fun way. I cannot imagine any child (or adult being forced to read this book over and over) not enjoying the book itself, the sweet little dragon and the fun involved in reading this sweet story. Since it is interactive, I am not sure if this is the book to read to get your child to fall asleep, but it is perfect for a fun time spent one on one with your child or even a group reading. Just remember, if you do not want a dragon in your book do not turn the page.
