NEW RELEASES FOR JULY 8TH-14TH
By OBS reviewer Heidi
The month of July has proven to be a very busy month for me as far as my highly anticipated new releases go. And, this week had one of my most highly coveted books…. as you can tell from my title of this article with it’s ‘son of Satan’ reference that it’s non other than Darynda Jones’s Fifth Grave Past the Light! Please check out the details below on the new book and the others that I have spotlighted for you this week! Feel free to comment with your favorites for the week in the comment section below this post!
Fifth Grave Past the Light (Charley Davidson #5)by Darynda Jones
Release Date: July 9th
Charley Davidson may not look like your everyday, run-of-the-mill grim reaper, but she has vowed to reap grimness wherever she goes despite this unfortunate fact. Sadly, she gets sidetracked when the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, moves in next door. As he is the main suspect in her arson case, she is determined to stay away from him until she can find out the truth. According to her therapist, however, she lacks conviction.
When dead women start appearing in her apartment – lost, confused and terrified beyond reason – Charley has no choice but to ask for Reyes’s help, especially when it becomes apparent that her own sister Gemma is the serial killer’s next target. With his ability to observe incorporeally, surely he can find out who’s responsible. And even if he can’t, he is the one man alive who could protect Gemma no matter who or what came at her. But he wants something in return: Charley. All of her – body and soul. And to keep her sister safe, it is a price she is willing to pay…
I was able to get this book a few weeks early and let me tell you … it did NOT disappoint! I really love where Charley and Reyes’s relationship is headed and am already eagerly anticipating book #6! In the meantime you can check out my review of Fifth Grave Past the Light here!
Raven Flight (Shadoufell #2) by Juliet Marillier
Release Date: July 9th
Neryn has finally found the rebel group at Shadowfell, and now her task is to seek out the elusive Guardians, vital to her training as a Caller. These four powerful beings have been increasingly at odds with human kind, and Neryn must prove her worth to them. She desperately needs their help to use her gift without compromising herself or the cause of overthrowing the evil King Keldec.
Neryn must journey with the tough and steadfast Tali, who looks on Neryn’s love for the double agent Flint as a needless vulnerability. And perhaps it is. What Flint learns from the king will change the battlefield entirely—but in whose favor, no one knows.
Bombshell (FBI Thriller #17) by Catherine Coulter
Release Date: July 9th
FBI Special Agent Griffin Hammersmith, last seen in Backfire, has been recruited by Dillon Savich to join his unit in Washington, D.C. Savich sees something special in Hammersmith, an almost preternatural instinct for tracking criminals.
While on his way to D.C., Hammersmith plans to visit his sister, Delsey, a student at Stanislaus School of Music in Maestro, Virginia. Before he arrives, he gets a phone call that Delsey was found naked, unconscious, and covered with blood after a wild party. The blood isn’t hers—so who does it belong to?
Meanwhile, back in D.C., Savich and Sherlock have their hands full when the grandson of former chairman of the Federal Reserve Bank is found murdered, every bone in his body broken, and frozen at the foot of the Lincoln Memorial.
Was Savich right—is Griffin gifted with a unique ability to “see” how criminals think? And will he figure out who was behind the attempt on Delsey’s life—before it’s too late?
Hidden Order (Scot Harvath #12) by Brad Thor
Release Date: July 9th
Action-packed from page one, Hidden Order demonstrates yet again why Brad Thor is the “master of thrillers.”
A string of high-profile kidnappings has Washington, D.C. in a frenzy. When the victims begin turning up dead, frenzy turns to panic. And when the ransom demand is finally made public, panic will turn to terror.
In Brad Thor’s riveting new thriller, the stakes have never been higher, nor the lines between good and evil so hard to discern.
Unfortunately, the only series that I’ve actually read that was having a book released this week is the Charley Davidson series that I mentioned earlier. But there are some interesting looking books being released this month and you should definitely find one that sounds good to you, curl up with it, and let us know how you like it!
Happy Reading!
