Synopsis:
When a famous pooch comes to Wagtail for some downtime, inn owner Holly Miller learns that murder never rests in this all-new Paws & Claws mystery in the New York Times bestselling series.
America’s favorite dog comes to pet-friendly Wagtail for some rest and relaxation, but Holly quickly discovers that this perfect pup is a total scamp who takes every opportunity to run off and misbehave. During an outdoor treasure-hunting game, the star dog and Trixie, Holly’s beloved Jack Russell terrier, stumble across a dead body.
Holly has more than murder to worry about, though, when a man shows up after reading an article featuring Trixie in a magazine and claims that he is the dog’s rightful owner. Holly will need to prove that she is her pup’s only parent and catch a killer to restore peace to her pet-loving happy place.
Review:
“The Dog Who Knew Too Much” brings me back to my favorite place in the world – Wagtail. A place where animals are accepted everywhere and places even are made for them to be comfortable. A place where Oma is a big part and I miss my own Oma. A place where dogs and cats are welcome and loved. Who could ask for more? Well, there is more, there is mystery, great characters, wonderful events, and fun times to be had. So when I know there is a new “Paws and Claws Mystery” coming out, I place my order and wait and wait and wait. And when it comes to my house, I have to read it right away. This has to be one of my very favorite series of all times, and this 6th installment did not disappoint!!
Holly Miller and her dog Trixie are so much fun to read about. Their adventures draw the reader in and keep them riveted to the book till the end. Which, by the way, comes way too soon. In this one, a famous dog is visiting Wagtail for some relaxation. Pippin is America’s Favorite Dog and a huge television star. Pippin has a mischievous streak and loves to run with Trixie. Which can mean only one thing, dead bodies will be found. Of course Holly will have to find answers and her dog and friends will be there every step of the way.
The one thing this book had that worried me was when someone came to claim Trixie as their own. I could not fathom this happening. It was a tense and fitful read for me, but of course I loved it. With all of Krista Davis’ books, there are lots of things going on and lots to keep the reader guessing. Her writing style is so enjoyable and this book is truly a hit. I was racing around in my own mind trying to put all the pieces together and could not until Holly had it all in hand.
“The Dog Who Knew Too Much” is wonderful. If I could give more than 5 stars I surely would. I so love visiting Wagtail and only wish it was real. (One of these days). Krista Davis’ writing is as always entertaining, enjoyable, and intriguing. I only wish the next book in this fabulous series was already out for me to read. I recommend this book to any animal lover, cozy lover, and anyone that enjoys a well-written read full of fun and mystery.
