And one night of passion will pull both of their heads out of the game.
Review
Jeannette Murray has written another great story. I loved Loving Him off the Field and Takes Two to Tackle had me hooked from page one. It tells the story of Stephen Harrison a football player who has just gotten out of rehab and whose career is hovering on his ability to follow the regime the football organization has spelled out for him. Stephen knows there will be no more chances. The organization has decided that to have no relapses Stephen will require a life coach to get him back into playing shape. Not wanting a life coach he tells the coaches that his girlfriend will help him. Deciding that his housekeeper will be suitable, he offers her a deal too good to pass up. But what he doesn’t count on is the fact that he will fall in love with her at which point the deal may cost too much.
Margaret has always wanted to be her own boss and to start her own cleaning service. When Stephen offers her a deal that will give her the startup costs how can she refuse. When emotions and love get in the way she realizes she might lose it all.
I liked how Jeanette Murray developed the story and kept the reader interested. Stephen and Margaret have to work for their relationship and Margaret especially has to go from being cleaner for many of the team members to a girlfriend of one of players. This story also shows how difficult it is for someone with addictive tendencies to become and stay clean and battle the stigma involved. It was especially nice having read a previous book to be able to recognize some characters in this book. I look forward to more Jeanette Murray stories and will recommend this to all my reading friends.
