The most anticipated new scifi series this season is Stargate Universe. The premier is a two-hour movie event on the SyFy channel on October 2 at 9 p.m. As Battlestar Galactica was my all-time favorite series, the fact that this one is touted as BSG-style, only better, has me wanting to see what all the fuss is about.
“Stargate Universe has brought a new and fresh look to the long running franchise and has used a relatively new style to carry it: dark sci-fi. Many will want to compare this new series, because of that style, to other successful shows like Battlestar Galactica. However, where Galactica seemed to be depressing and too pessimistic in its goal for deep passionate drama, SGU may have been able to achieve something better, that middle ground.”

I am SO excited for this show! I love Stargate, and am excited for new characters and enemies. To be honest, I haven’t seen Battlestar Galactica, but I do think it looks interesting. I have seen every SG-1 episode, and a ton of Stargate: Atlantis, and I’ve already set up my DVR to record every episode of SGU.
