Lord Maccon and Alexia engage in a intimate passionate make out session much to Alexia’s surprise. Professor Lyall attempts to gain Lord Maccon’s attention by clearing his thoart, not wanting to rudely interrupt them but neither one hear him. Professor Lyall speaks up then and Lord Maccon jumps back in surprise, turning to face Professor Lyall while shielding Alexia so she can adjust her clothing. Lord Maccon demands Professor Lyall to explain why he has chosen such a time to interrupt and Professor Lyall explains it’s about pack business. Alexia still wrapped up in the shock of being kissed and the embarrassment of being found by Professor Lyall can do nothing more than lean against Lord Maccon’s back while they speak. Alexia does finally manage to regain her composure and goes about recovering herself, pulling up the neckline of her dress at the shoulder, straightening her hat, and fluffing out her bustle. She suddenly realizes she has been caught in a very intimate act with Lord Maccon right in the middle of a public street and begins to feel extremely embarrassed. Professor Lyall explains all the loner werewolves whom Lord Maccon had stationed at Canterbury are all missing as well as a number of rove vampires.

“You mean like whack you upside the noggin with that deadly parasol of hers? I would be cautious in that area if I were you. I am reasonably certain she had it custom made and tipped with silver.” ~Professor Lyall (making fun of Lord Maccon)
