UPDATED: Multiple sources confirm to me exclusively that ex-Smallville‘s evildoer Sam Witwer (a.k.a. Doomsday) is the odds-on favorite has officially signed on to play vampire Aidan in Syfy’s in-the-works U.S. remake of the U.K. supernatural dramedy Being Human.

It’s official: Mitch Pileggi is returning to Supernatural as Sam and Dean’s presumed-dead grandpa — and not for some one-off guest stint. As I first teased in Ask Ausiello, the X-Files vet will appear in multiple episodes during season 6.

“I’m a longtime fan of Mitch’s work,” gushes executive producer/new showrunner Sera Gamble. “And we all thought he did an amazing job the first time around, so we’re excited he was game to [return].”

‘VAMPIRE DIARIES’ CHARACTER TO RETURN?

David Anders has revealed that his character John Gilbert may return for the second season of The Vampire Diaries.

Viewers saw his character John stabbed to death by vampire Katherine in the show’s first season finale.

However, former Heroes star Anders has confirmed that he will star in the second season premiere and may reappear later.
