Stephenie Meyer, although she set her Twilight series in Forks, WA, is not a Seattle author. (She lives in Arizona.)
Sherman Alexie. He won the 2007 National Book Award for Young People’s Literature for his YA debut, The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.
Mary Jane Beaufrand. Beaufrand’s debut novel, Primavera, is exciting Italian Renaissance historical fiction
Heather Davis. Davis’s first teen novel goes on sale September 1, 2009. It’s titled Never Cry Werewolf. It should be a fun, new addition to the teen paranormal romance genre.
Richelle Mead. This Seattle area author has a popular vampires-at-boarding-school series, Vampire Academy, with #4, Blood Promise. Mead has been lauded by the American Library Association and on the New York Times Bestseller list for the series.

Have you read any of these authors? Are you planning on reading one?
