When Anya Fisher is asked to be the maid of honor in her best friend’s wedding, she jumps at the chance to go to Santa Fe. There’s nothing left for her in Atlanta—except a bitter and controlling almost-ex-husband. Starting over as an online personal shopper is challenging, but not as much as having to plan wedding festivities with uptight groomsman Josiah Walker…
As a Santa Fe Bobcats running back, Josiah wants to make his mark on the field, not on the earth. A serious conservationist, he’s all about saving energy. So why is he wasting so much on the flighty fashionista in his best friend’s wedding? One kiss leads to another—and more. But when Josiah discovers that Anya has just as much substance as style, their harmless little fling may go into overtime…
Review:
I have thoroughly enjoyed Jeanette Murray’s “The Bobcat series”. I find it refreshing to meet again characters from previous stories. This romance is delightful and the characters are easy for the reader to get into.
Anya comes to Santa Fe wanting but not having achieved a divorce and still being hounded by her ex-husband. Needing the distraction of planning her best friend’s wedding, Anya does not anticipate having to work with the best man Josh who as an environmentalist thinks her as a complete flake. He does not think her world of fashion as any more than fluff with no substance and Anya feels he is uptight, completely inflexible and a complete waste of her time.
Thrown together in wedding planning is a test of time. Anya must learn the world of football and Josh must learn to relax and appreciate others for what they can contribute. Both learn each other’s strong points and the fact that they have chemistry together makes it easier.
But will Anya’s past boycott what they just found? Murray’s ability as a story teller gives the reader interesting characters and a great setting. I know I found myself rooting for the romance to survive in spite of Anya and Josh’s differences. It is a story of friendships, love and a bonding of teammates.
Jeanette Murray is certainly an author I will be on the lookout for and I know I will want to read the next book in the series.
