SLG Publishing, in a partnership with the San Jose Downtown Association and Starlight Cinemas, will be organizing a zombie crawl on August 25th which will double as a canned food drive for The Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara. Now in its second year, Zombie-O-Rama as it is called takes its name from a comic book published by SLG Publishing.
“Last year’s event was a huge success” said SLG president Dan Vado “Our expectation was that we could get maybe 50-100 people to come out, the SJDA estimated attendance as closer to 1000 and for a good part of the evening the entire San Jose Downtown area looked like The highlights of this years crawl will be a zombie fashion show put on by the Creative Zombie Collective and then an outdoor showing of last year’s hit comedy Zombieland. Admission to the event is free although everyone attending is being asked to bring at least one canned food item. The SLG Publishing Gallery will be open at noon on August 25th and make-up artists will be on hand to zombiefy the make-up challenged for a fee depending on complexity. The rally point for the crawl will be Gore Park at the corners of South First Street and Williams in downtown San Jose with the crawl set to begin at 5:00 PM.
