MyVampFiction, a multi-faceted blog that provides book reviews and recommendations, interviews, and commentary on all facets of the vampire/paranormal genre, challenges writers to put their own spin on the vampire legend with their first Original Fiction contest.

Fan Fiction is a popular venue for both new and experienced writers to bring their own twist to characters we already know and love from popular series such as Twilight, The Vampire Diaries, and Southern Vampire Mysteries.  MVF, through their fan fiction archive, encourages their readers to be creative and to never be afraid to step out and write their own stories.

In that vein, the owners of MyVampFiction want to challenge writers everywhere to step into Original Fiction – to let loose and create their own version of the vampire legend. This short story contest is designed to get writers thinking outside the box and challenge their creativity.

Entries will be accepted through 11:59pm Central Standard Time on Saturday, October 9th, 2010.

The prize for first place is a Kindle Wireless Reading Device (retail value $139).  The second place winner will receive a personalized tote bag containing a surprise item (approximate retail value $50)
