Todays Casting Couch is brought to you from OBS staff member Erin.
It’s a novel written in collaboration between the Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman.
The book is a comedy and a quasi-parody of the 1976 film The Omen (as well as other books and films of the genre), concerning the birth of the son of Satan, the coming of the End Times and the attempts of the angel Aziraphale and the demon Crowley to avert them, having become accustomed to their comfortable situations in the human world. A subplot features the gathering of the four horsemen of the Apocalypse — War, Famine, Pollution and Death — the last of whom is characterised in a manner reminiscent of the personification of Death in Pratchett’s Discworld novels and calls himself Azrael before his final exit. SOURCE
Aziraphale: Jude Law (Even if Jude Law and Ewan McGregor switched roles it would be fine)
OR Chris Pine
Crowley: Ewan McGregor (I always pictured Crowley as the hotter one. I wonder what that says about me?)
Warlock: Cole Sprouse (they’re supposed to be switched at birth, so why not twins?)
Adam: Dylan Sprouse
Pepper: Haley Ramm
Agnes Nutter: Emily Mortimer (Since Agnes and Anathema are ancestor and descendent, I thought it would be funny. Same with the Pulsifers)
Anathema Device: Emily Mortimer
Thou-Shalt-Not-Commit-Adultery Pulsifer: Martin Freeman
Newton Pulsifer: Martin Freeman
Shadwell: Bill Bailey
Madame Tracy: Julie Walters
Sister Mary Loquacious: Emma Thompson (because she’s hilarious and hearing her babble non-stop would be fantastic)
War: Rachelle Lefevre
Famine: Adrien Brody
Pollution: Jonathan Rhys Meyers (I know he’s supposed to be blond, but this picture was perfect)
Death: someone in a cloak…no voice, only subtitles
Do you agree with these castings or would you have cast someone else? Let us know what you think. HERE – thank you!
I would’ve prefered Nathaniel Parker as Crowley and Simon Pegg as Aziraphale, they’re just funnier.
this makes me smile!
