Black Dagger Brotherhood Book – 7 Lover Avenged

Brought to you by OBS Staff Member Deannerenee

Summary:
Caldwell, NY, has long been the battleground for the vampires and their enemies, the Lessening Society. It’s also where Rehvenge has staked out his turf as a drug lord and notorious nightclub that caters to the rich and heavily armed. His shadowy reputation is exactly why he’s approached to kill Wrath, the Blind King, and leader of the Brotherhood. Rehvenge has always kept his distance from the Brotherhood, even though his sister is married to a member. Because he’s a sympath, his identity is a deadly secret- the revelation of which will result in his banishment to a colony for sociopaths. And as plots within and outside the Brotherhood take their toll against Rehvenge, he turns to the only source of light in a darkening world- Elhena, a vampire untouched by the corruption that has its hold on him- and the only thing standing between him and eternal destruction.

Review:
Well, well, well, I really liked this book. I found that is was completely different from the others, maybe because Rehvenge was not a brother, and that he has a little of the dark side in him.

The book opens with someone trying to hire him to kill the Wrath, their king! Of course, he declines. Rehvenge leads a double life, he his club owner/drug lore and he is a sympath. On the other side, he is the older brother of Bella, a son who killed his stepfather to protect his mother and kept it secret.

Rehvenge has many sides and you get to see them all in this book. You get to see that man that would kill for the one he loves and the man that would kill because he can. He then falls in love Elhena, a women who is drawn to him but holds back. She has lived a sheltered life and is not prepared for a man like Rehvenge, but he opens her up to a world of love and possibility, until she finds out what he is. Elhena opens Rehvenge to a life he though he could never have or deserve and now it is right in front of him.

This book I thought was great. I was drawn in to a world that had the brotherhood, but this one had Rehvenge. What could be better!?
