Vampire craze HBO “True Blood” actor has family ties to St. Augustine
Vampires are in right now. Very in. Film, television and literature are all taking a turn for the undead (think the uber-popular “Twilight” series).
Paul Trammell, a local musician, artist and Lincolnville resident, knows a thing or two about mythological creatures — his younger brother, Sam, plays shapeshifter Sam Merlotte on HBO’s hit vampire series “True Blood,” produced by Alan Ball (“American Beauty,” “Six Feet Under”) and based on a popular book series called “The Southern Vampire Mysteries” written by Charlaine Harris.
Over the past decade, Sam’s been making trips to St. Augustine to visit his older brother.
“I love it. It’s just such a picturesque, beautiful town,” the actor admitted via phone from his home in Los Angeles.
Could Joss Whedon be planning a new series with FX?
Will Joss Whedon make a new show for cable TV?
That’s the tantalizing hint presented by FX president John Landgraf, speaking with reporters on Sunday and saying that he’s having lunch with the creator of Dollhouse and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
Here’s how the Futon Critic Web site reported it:
“Actually his representatives called and scheduled a lunch, I think I’m supposed to have lunch with Joss in the next two or three weeks,” FX president John Landgraf told reporters when asked about working with the cult-favorite producer during the network’s executive session at the TCA this morning.
LOL@Sam Trammell getting mobbed when he goes to see his brother’s band play. It’s cool that he takes the time to talk to fans.
I certainly hope Joss Whedon is planning another show. I would hate to see him just disappear. TV really needs his infusion of ideas. What do you think?
